About the Role: The Driver Helper assists the driver by safely loading bins and materials onto the truck, ensuring proper organization and safety procedures. Key duties include route navigation, performing physical labor, adhering to safety guidelines, and maintaining a clean work area. Responsibilities: Ride along assigned recycling collection routes with driver. Load and unload recyclable materials, (such as paper, plastics, glass, metals). Ensure proper handling of bins, carts, and containers to prevent spills or damage. Identify and separate non-recyclable materials when necessary. Provide excellent customer service and respond to residents' or businesses' questions courteously. Assist with navigating routes and ensuring all stops are completed. Comply with safety policies, procedures, and regulations at all times. Report any route issues, accidents, or hazards to the driver or supervisor, promptly. Processing equipment cleanup at the end of each shift. Minimum Job Qualifications: Familiarity with the use of basic Personal Protective Equipment like a hard hat, reflective vest, steel toe boots, ear and eye protection, utility gloves, and arm preferred. Preferred Job Qualifications: Previous experience in an industrial recycling facility preferred.
