How you will impact Smurfit Westrock: Primary job duties will include but are not limited to: Follow all safety rules and procedures and actively participate in the plant's safety culture Load/unload production machines, trailers, and railcars while meeting safety, quality, environmental, and production expectations Perform safety inspections for trailers, docks, and dock plates Utilize proper PPE for equipment safety checks and changing propane tanks Alert supervisors to product quality issues Maintain housekeeping and organization in the workspace Perform various other duties as needed What you need to succeed: Minimum 2 years of experience operating a power industrial machine (PIT) - prior experience at a paper mill or corrugated facility strongly preferred Knowledge of scanning systems Ability to read, write, speak, and understand basic English Ability to read materials to understand and apply content, such as instruction manuals and procedure manuals. Understanding of how to read shipping tags and shipping manifests Able to perform basic math Must wear safety glasses, safety shoes, hearing protection and other safety gear as required (We will provide any necessary PPE.) Ability sit/drive continuously with occasional walking, kneeling, crouching, squatting, bending, climbing, and grasping. Ability to lift up to 60 lbs.
