We are looking for an enthusiastic Apprentices to be a part of our team. A successful candidate should display a willingness to learn and grow in knowledge and experience within the construction field.
Apprenticeship Requirements
Apprenticeships are required to work a full-time schedule as an apprentice, and work under the supervision of an experienced and certified construction journeyworker.
Must be able to be enrolled in school for a full semester. Semesters usually run from February to May and September to December.
Cost of courses will be covered by ZTEX, promissory time is one year from the start of the semester.
Must be able to attend various skill training workshops and specialized classes in area of interest within the construction field.
Upon completion must also be able to prepare presentations, evaluation tests, and reports.
Must possess excellent time management skills, strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Able to build and maintain long-term business relationships.
Must be able to visit different locations and job sites.
Must be able to work well in a team.
Apprentices should display good physical dexterity and a detail-oriented approach.
Must be able to meet all compliance with the health and safety procedures.
Must be able to follow safety rules and identify hazards in the workplace.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Perform a variety of tasks involving strenuous manual labor in heavy construction projects.
Unload, carry, place, and secure with tie wire concrete reinforcing steel and accessories.
Manually excavates and fills trenches and ditches.
Handles and stores materials.
Preparations for concrete pour include installing embedded items and cleaning.
Assist in demolishing activities.
Operate pneumatic hammers, vibrators, and tampers.
Operate electric powered tools.
Signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance.
As courses are completed, may also begin operating in area of specialty.

Essential Duties:
Preparation of areas for the placement of concrete involves final excavation of dirt and rock and fine grading for floor slabs. This work involves shoveling for extended periods of time.
Assembly of concrete forms, laborers are required to lift form prefabricated metal form panels and assist in their placement.
Handle the concrete bucket suspended from a crane that transfers the concrete from the concrete truck to the placement area. After the concrete is poured from the bucket, laborers muck the concrete in slabs to spread it evenly.
After the concrete has cured, the laborers assist in stripping the concrete forms and transporting them for storage.
Assist concrete finishers in moving power trowels and power screeds used to finish the concrete surface.
Support of block masons installing masonry work by handling and transporting bags of cement, lime, sand, and grout. This includes stocking blocks and bricks.
Assist carpenters in handling and setting door frames. This entails transporting the door frames from the storage area to the work areas and stacking the door frames where needed.
Loads, unloads, and identifies building materials, machinery, and tools. Distributes site materials to the appropriate locations, according to project plans and specifications. Responsible for ensuring that all materials are properly distributed, and the site is swept and well maintained.
Promotes a safe work environment and communicates jobsite hazards. This includes helping to secure the jobsite at the end of business each day and verifying that all site materials are properly stored.

The Helper will work under the Foreman and learn how to install all types of fire-protecting systems, including pipe systems and valves. The Helper is to show up to work and complete the work outlined by the Foreman. A desired candidate is reliable, coachable, and willing to learn.
Responsibilities
Unload necessary equipment and tools for job from vehicles
Install and test systems under close guidance/ supervision
Operate machinery safely and effectively
Complete tasks as directed by Foreman in a timely manner
Utilize project drawings to accurately and entirely interpret installation requirement details
Thread and groove pipe, cut hanger rods, frequently climb ladders, hang pipe, read blueprints, and keep work area clean
Complete necessary paperwork in its entirety
Perform other related duties as assigned or required
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
Able to work early hours, including 4:00 AM start times
Ability to lift 70 pounds, walk climb, bend, kneel, crawl, twist, reach, push, pull, and power-grasp throughout shift
Willing to learn and be trained
High precision/ detail-oriented
Completing project in its entirety/ does not take short-cuts
Organized, systematic and adherent to deadlines
Able to work independently and through ambiguous situations
Preferred
CSA Certification
OSHA Certification
Knowledge working in Profit Zoom, Building Reports, and Paylocity
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Word)
