Marks location of holes to be drilled and installs temporary fasteners to hold parts in place for welding or riveting. May tack weld clips and brackets in place prior to permanent welding. May bend, flange, cut, and shape plates, beams, and other heavy metal parts, utilizing the above-mentioned equipment. DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: Knowledge of blueprints and drawings. DESIRABLE EXPERIENCE & TRAINING: Prior experience, as a shipfitter is preferred, capable of operating a cutting torch and tack welding.
