Job Description The HVAC Helper supports HVAC/R Technicians and Installation Teams with the day-to-day tasks needed to service, repair, and install commercial heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration equipment. Key Responsibilities Assist technicians with the installation, maintenance, and repair of HVAC/R systems, refrigeration equipment, and related components. MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Assist skilled staff with timely and accurate completion of all work orders and/or instructions provided by the Foreman. Retrieve material for journeyman or skilled mechanic required to complete work assignments. Maintain, repair and install all electrical equipment in accordance with industry guidelines, local and national codes. Answer and respond to service desk calls as necessary. Assist with boot layouts, moving of protective floor covering and other materials, and the installation of overhead power drops. Assist in routine building maintenance such as changing light bulbs, cleaning of electrical equipment, and inventory control. Maintain organization and cleanliness of all electrical storage units, tools, materials, and warehouse areas. Examine electrical units and notify supervisor of any equipment in need of replacement or repair. Possess knowledge of basic hand tools and power equipment.
