Ensures that the installation and repair of equipment complies with agency policy and local codes and regulations. Replaces units or parts, such as gears, bearings, and filters. Tests newly installed and pre-existing mechanical equipment. Orders replacement parts for equipment. Identifies and confirms time frame for completion of repairs. Uses precision tools such as micrometer migs, dial indicators and RPM indicators. Communicates the necessity for proper and timely maintenance of all equipment to operators and/or management personnel. Assists management personnel to train on site staff in proper equipment maintenance techniques. Works with management and other maintenance staff to develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for project mechanical equipment and/or vehicles. Other Responsibilities Persons appointed to this position are subject to be called to duty in emergencies. Performs other work-related duties as assigned.
