Entry-Level Geothermal HVAC Helper

📌 About the role:
We're looking for a motivated, hands-on, entry-level HVAC Helper to join our installation team. This role is perfect for someone excited to get their start in the renewable energy and HVAC space. You'll support experienced installers in installing geothermal heat pumps, learn on the job, and help maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. This role reports to the Regional Operations Manager.
🛠️ Responsibilities:
Assist in installing heating, air conditioning, ventilation, and refrigeration equipment under the guidance of senior installers.
Help with fabricating ductwork, joining pipes, and handling basic electrical or low-voltage wiring tasks.
Support the recovery and handling of refrigerants safely.
Assist with startups, tests, and diagnostics of equipment.
Follow detailed work instructions and collaborate on improving team processes.
Maintain safety and quality standards on every job site.
Communicate effectively with team members and the Regional Operations Manager.
🎯 You will thrive in this role if you:
Are eager to learn hands-on technical skills in HVAC and renewable energy.
Have strong communication skills and work well in a team.
Are physically capable of performing labor-intensive tasks (lifting up to 100 lbs).
Are reliable, proactive, and willing to take initiative.
✅ Must-haves:
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Willingness to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
Strong interest in HVAC, geothermal systems, or renewable energy.
🌟 Bonus points for:
Any prior exposure to HVAC, construction, or mechanical work.
EPA 608 Universal Certification, NATE, or IGSHPA Certification (not required).
Experience with hand tools, basic electrical, or sheet metal fabrication.
💰Compensation
The expected base hourly range for this role in New York is $19-$26.00/hour and is non-exempt/overtime eligible. This role is also eligible for a monthly performance bonus. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, qualifications, and other job-related factors permitted by law.
