HEMET VALLEY MEDICAL CENTER company history timeline
Founded in 1943, Hemet Global Medical Center is fully accredited by The Joint Commission, serves as one of the largest private employers in the San Jacinto Valley.
By 1947, a new statute allowed voters to form taxing districts and own and operate hospitals.
The winner, VALLEY GENERAL HOSPITAL, was dedicated on October 4, 1969, at its current site.
The upgrade to the front entrance of the hospital was the first since its original construction in 1969, creating a soothing, light-filled lobby featuring a 22-foot-high glassed-in atrium with nine pyramid skylights and a prominent water feature to promote relaxation.
A group of volunteers and community leaders created the Hemet Hospital Foundation on April 25, 1980.
