This is a pipeline requisition for opportunities in the Hennepin EMS department. The selection process will include a phone screen and interview with management. Hennepin Emergency Medical Service (HEMS), a division of Hennepin County Medical Center, has openings for 20-22 Paramedic Trainees to start in January 2024.This posting serves as a Talent Pipeline for incoming EMTs who are interested in training to work as Paramedics for the Hennepin EMS department. Hennepin EMS is an Urban/Suburban 9-1-1 Emergency Medical Services agency that handles approximately 85,000 calls for service each year from the citizens and visitors of Hennepin County, Minnesota. We are based at Hennepin County Medical Center in Downtown Minneapolis and serve 14 municipalities within Hennepin County, covering 266 square miles and a population of over 700,000. Hennepin EMS deploys ambulances throughout the communities we serve, utilizing an integrated Computer Aided Dispatch that incorporates Automatic Vehicle Location and Global Positioning Satellites to ensure the closest available ambulance is sent to all emergencies. Our goal is to deliver quality service to our customers with a courteous and immediate response while modeling the highest standard for excellence in public safety. SUMMARY Responsible for attending and completing a CAAHEP accredited paramedic program through Hennepin EMS Education. Under the supervision of a Hennepin EMS preceptor is responsible for providing Basic and Advanced Life Support to sick and injured persons at emergency scenes and during transport to a health care facility. Upon successful completion of the paramedic program, employees may be eligible for promotion to paramedic. Qualified candidates will receive directions for the screening process and a timeline of steps via email. Upon accepting the position, the candidate will be required to sign an agreement to work for Hennepin EMS for 3 years after completing paramedic training. Park Nicollet is part of the larger Health Partners health care system. The Park Nicollet Health Partners internship is a comprehensive medical Music Therapy internship where Music Therapy interns gain experience in many medical settings and populations. The main location for interns is based out of the Methodist Hospital Campus in St. Louis Park (a suburb of Minneapolis). Interns must be able to provide their own transportation between work locations multiple times each day, including one hospital (Methodist, Regions or Lakeview), Frauenshuh Cancer Center, Struthers Parkinson's Center, Home Hospice Offices, and the homes of hospice patients. Interns must be able to carry and transport music therapy equipment, such as electric piano keyboards, guitars and other musical instruments, to and from the hospice locations, multiple times each day. Interns must be able to set up or rearrange physical environments of home of hospice patients, which may include moving light weight furniture, to make them conducive for music therapy. Prior to starting the internship, interns are required to complete a criminal background check and a health assessment with Employee Health Services.
