We are currently seeking a Lab Technical Services Coordinator to join our team. This full time role will work a combination of mid-shift (start times falling between 7 AM and 9 AM) and evening shift, including every other weekend. Mid-shift coverage would likely occur more often.
Purpose of this position: The role of the technical services coordinator is to support a designated section of the laboratory. In this role you must collaboratively work with laboratory teams, organizational laboratory customers, Hennepin Healthcare affiliates and clients to provide an excellent customer experience. Support the mission, vision, values, and strategic initiatives of the organization and demonstrate a commitment to quality service to patients, physicians, the public, and co-workers.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Core Laboratory
Answers incoming phone calls with the expectation to respond appropriately to external and internal customers' needs/issues without transferring the phone calls to another section of the laboratory. This will require coordination with all sections of the laboratory and may require a return call for resolution
Call/page all critical values to the provider and complete the documentation of all calls in the electronic health record
Utilization of the electronic health record and the laboratory information system to efficiently complete add-on test requests, or to confer with the ordering provider if the add-on tests cannot be completed
Call all specimen rejection problems to the provider, including all affected specimens for that collection period
Monitors the core lab pending logs and communicates to the technical staff to ensure testing is not delayed
Operating laboratory equipment as assigned by management after proper training
Performs administrative support work including, but not limited to, entry of test results into the laboratory information system, assisting with departmental inventory management
Other duties as assigned for which they have received applicable training and supervisor approval to perform
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate's degree in arts or science or equivalent

One year of experience in customer service skills

Job Description:
Plan and facilitate therapeutic interventions through structured activities and education. Provides direct and indirect patient care services under direction and supervision of identified program Mental Health Professionals and Program Manager/Supervisor. We are currently seeking a Hospital Responder to join our Next Step team. This full-time role will primarily work on-site but also requires a driver's license and access to a reliable and insured vehicle for travel to local hospitals. This role will work Sunday-Thursday from 2:00 p.m.-10:00 p.m.
SUMMARY
Under general supervision, responds to eligible participants for the Next Step Program and assesses participant needs.
Next Step is a hospital-based violence intervention program partnership between the City of Minneapolis and Hennepin Healthcare System (HHS). The program serves victims of violent injury (e.g. gunshot, stabbing, serious assault) who have been treated at HHS
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Conducts daily hospital rounds connecting with participants still hospitalized; connects with any new participants who have arrived on weekdays since last on-call shift
* Provides weekday evening and overnight coverage
* Responds to notifications of eligible participant arrival at Hennepin County Medical Center, North Memorial Hospital, or Abbott Northwestern Hospital; arrives at hospital within 30 minutes of notification; stays at hospital as needed or until shift ends
* Conducts initial bedside visit(s) and provides immediate crisis response for patient and family support system
* Provides comfort and education about emotional consequences following violent injury
* Builds rapport, assesses risk for retaliatory violence, assesses strengths and needs, and determines need for community-based follow-up services
* Assesses participant needs and addresses community-based needs, including assistance with employment, education, health care, basic needs, housing, legal aid, transportation, and social and recreational program assistance
* Guides participant through development and achievement of goal plan
* Provides referrals to community service providers and fosters connections to long-term resources
* Supports participant in navigating systems
* Provides participants with connection to positive, trusted adult
* Maintains ongoing contact with youth and family until patient is discharged from care to assigned Next Step Case Manager
* Documents all participant contacts and activities

Purpose of this Position: The purpose of this position is to provide clerical support for specific clinical areas to serve patients and their families. The main objectives of this position are to meet and exceed patient expectations as it relates to complex scheduling processes and support to clinical areas; to act and communicate in a professional and positive manner to patients, providers and care team staff; and to provide team-oriented support to staff to assist in meeting overall HHS registration quality goals. This is a high patient volume, multi-tasking position.
RESPONSIBILITIES
* Provides clerical support to clinical staff, such as basic templating, processing patient forms, and urgent scheduling needs
* Functions as a scheduling Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the department they support
* Maintains Clerical Pool In-basket messages; messages are completed appropriately based on the SLA (Service Line Agreement) and urgency of the message
* Answers and responds to in-bound calls to the department from both internal and external customers
* Provide scheduling support using knowledge of clinical specialties including: more complex scheduling that often requires multiple appointments with different providers and modalities, in-room scheduling, obtain necessary documentation for appointments within the specialty
* Promotes the organization and assists in maintaining clinic efficiency

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Qualifications:

* Solid understanding or medical terminology
* Solid understanding of payer/insurance plans

Purpose of this position: Under general supervision, performs work that involves collecting and/or processing laboratory specimens, entering data into the electronic health record (EHR) and/or the laboratory information system (LIS). Interacts and communicates with patients, their families, and members of the healthcare team by using various communication tools in a timely and professional manner
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Specimen Processing
Assists in maintaining supplies, helping with inventory, and placing orders
Performs patient check-in while maintaining excellent customer service
Manages client test results according to established procedures
Assists with training of new staff and students
Utilizes the electronic health record (EHR), laboratory information system (LIS), Client software (Atlas), and the email system to efficiently complete daily tasks
Utilizes the laboratory information system (LIS) to monitor the appropriate test pending logs and communicate to the technical staff to ensure testing is not delayed
Performs all specimen processing functions to receive and process specimens according to laboratory protocol, including, but not limited to:
specimen labeling using proper patient identification techniques
preparing specimens to be sent out to reference laboratories
process client ordering via Altas or paper document
Performs urine collections for urine drug screens and complete proper paperwork
Operates laboratory equipment for which they have received applicable training and supervisor approval to perform
Other duties as assigned for which they have received applicable training and supervisor approval to perform
