Participates in quality assurance logs and records as required. Performs multiple computer functions, facilitates accurate charging/crediting of medications via Cerner programming. Utilizes technical equipment such as barcode software and automated packaging software to provide accurate, safe products for patient administration. Adheres strictly to all established controlled substance protocols, policies and procedures. This would include federal and state regulations and hospital policies and procedures. Prepackage bulk medications into unit dose packages as needed. Checks and restocks emergency crash carts throughout the facility. Takes on and maintains responsibilities for special projects assigned by Pharmacy Technician Supervisor and/or Director of Pharmacy. Assists the pharmacists and others as needed for the provision of customer care, both internal and external. Facilitates in training of new pharmacy technicians and students.
