Provides leadership in the coordination and delivery of quality compassionate patient care. Unit Description: South street is a 9-bed curtained bay adult only observation unit dedicated to optimizing throughput for the hospital. Our emphasis on teamwork and nursing autonomy is essential to the success of this unit. Like many units, we require staff to work every other weekend and have a rotating holidays requirement as well. The environment does not allow for patients in isolation to be kept over there so we do minimize isolation patients to that area as best as possible. We maintain a collaborative communication with our other Observation unit/CDU. The high patient turnover provides a fast-paced environment and allows for a lot of diversity in patients on the unit.
