Environmental Science Associates (ESA) is actively seeking On-Call Archaeological Field Technicians in the Northern California Area, including San Francisco, Sacramento, Oakland, San Jose, and Petaluma. Candidates must be within a commutable distance and able to commute to support field work on-site as needed will also be considered.
Who You Are
You are an effective team member experienced in archaeological and/or paleontological monitoring, surveys, and documentation of archaeological, and/or paleontological resources in accordance with applicable local, state, and federal guidelines and requirements. You live in Northern California to support local work. If you are available to travel to remote work locations, we will consider candidates from elsewhere in California as well. Potential for travel to Southern California, Nevada, and Arizona.
You hold a Bachelor's degree or higher in archaeology/anthropology/paleontology or related field. You have a demonstrated ability to use app-based software for field recordation and mapping.
You are familiar with working on active construction sites, completing DPR forms, are knowledgeable of archaeological materials common to the region, and have a minimum of six months of field experience or relative academic field experience in Northern California.
You enjoy working outside and can walk long distances carrying up to 50 lbs. of gear in a wide variety of conditions, including strenuous natural habitats and difficult weather. You can work some nights and/or weekends.
You possess a valid driver's license and have experience driving 4 wheel-drive vehicles off-road.
What You Will Do for ESA
ESA is looking for Variable Part Time archaeological field technicians to support field projects in Northern California. Qualified candidates can demonstrate the ability to perform all aspects of archaeological and/or paleontological monitoring and familiarity working on construction sites, coordinating with construction personnel, and interacting with Native American monitors. Successful candidates will fulfill the following duties:
Monitor construction activities and identify archaeological and/or paleontological resources;
Effectively communicate with construction crews and project personnel;
Write and maintain written daily survey, monitoring, recordation, and cataloging logs, including utilizing electronic data collection tools and GIS mapping applications.

Detailed Description:

We are seeking a candidate with experience with conducting wetland/water delineations, environmental permitting and regulatory compliance, working on projects including Clean Water Act (402, 404, 401, 316) permitting, federal/state/local stormwater permitting, permit compliance activities, oversight of water quality, compliance with stormwater and best management practices, endangered species, cultural resources, land use planning, and supporting technical studies. Experience conducting environmental site assessments (in accordance with ASTM E-1527-21 standard) and/or audits is also a plus.

Job Summary:
The Environmental Science Specialist (Safe Drinking Water Inspector) will be responsible for inspecting Public Water Systems (PWSs) throughout Arizona to ensure compliance with the Safe Drinking Water Act (SDWA). The inspection will require conducting a file review, researching permits, assessing monitoring history and conducting an onsite visit. The position will require writing compliance documentation based on deficiencies found during an inspection. Furthermore, the position will require responding to customer complaints about water quality.
This position is based out of the Phoenix Office.

Job Duties:

POSITION SUMMARY
Epsilon is seeking one or more full-time Wetland Scientists with demonstrated experience with independent wetland delineation and assessment and regulatory permitting to support our growing ecological sciences and energy services practice teams on a wide variety of public and private projects. POSITION SUMMARY
Epsilon is seeking one or more full-time Wetland Scientists with demonstrated experience with independent wetland delineation and assessment and regulatory permitting to support our growing ecological sciences and energy services practice teams on a wide variety of public and private projects. The Wetland Scientist will support multiple projects simultaneously and will be expected to represent the company at public meetings, workshops, and meetings with federal, state, and local agencies, as well as other stakeholders in conjunction with permit application review.

Supports 3rd party gas contractor during construction activities including system expansions and modifications as required.
Ability to interpret analytical reports and make changes based off those reports; maintain site-specific management system documentation and procedures, including other analytical tasks reading and interpreting data and construction/permit drawings.
Provide oversight of to wellfield to ensure 3rd party contractor is tuning and balancing to achieve NSPS and maximizing the current gas collection and control system.
Assist the landfill leachate team with operation and maintenance of the leachate collection system and identifying field issues such as breakouts, pump/sump problems, etc.
Calibrate, operate and maintain sensitive electronic data collection devices necessary to optimize LFG collection from the wellfield.
Requirements and Qualifications:
Minimum 2+ years in a landfill gas or construction environment
Knowledge of wellfield gas collection system installation techniques
Demonstrated mechanical and electrical knowledge and repair abilities
Working knowledge of pumps, gauges, etc.
Strong verbal, written, computer communication and organization skills
Ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment
Natural or landfill gas wellfield collection system construction experience
Required to exert physical effort in handling objects less than 50 pounds on occasion
Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements
Ability to use a variety of tools
Ability to walk over uneven terrain
