HeR Interactive was a pioneer in 1998 when it began developing and publishing Nancy Drew PC games for an underserved female gamer market. From the beginning, the company’s games have encouraged STEM education and careers. HeR Interactive has released 33+ games, won 30 Parents’ Choice Awards and sold more than 10 million copies of its games. In addition to being CEO, Penny was the executive producer for Nancy Drew®: Midnight in Salem (PC/Mac game #33 in the series ) and Nancy Drew®: Codes & Clues®, the first mobile game under the company’s new division, Hi Kids™. The mobile app is a fun, story-driven, introduction to basic coding concepts targeted to early learners (5+). Players “code” their robot puppy to help Nancy Drew solve a mystery at the Tech Fair. Penny has been working in the entertainment industry for over 20 years with more than half that time at The Walt Disney Company both in the U.S. and Europe. Her broad entertainment marketing background includes digital media, television animation, feature animation, theme parks, motion pictures, and filmed entertainment. Penny has an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business. In addition, she completed UCLA’s certificate program in Personal Financial Planning and used this knowledge to co-develop a financial literacy class for kids. Prior to business school, Penny was a commercial loan officer at Continental Illinois Bank.Penny has a track record of building successful cross-functional, cross-cultural teams and working collaboratively to deliver results especially in challenging environments.
