The Heritage story began in 1960 when Bill Froelich visited his sister in Washington, D.C. Helen, an official in the Federal Housing Administration, told Bill about a new FHA program.
In 1965, the group developed a second home in Streator, Illinois.
Athena Health Care Systems, a Connecticut-based management group established in 1984, is a recognized leader in providing healthcare services to thousands of individuals throughout Connecticut, Massachusetts, and Rhode Island.
The billing service began in 1993.
Athena’s Corporate Compliance Program was established in 2000 to proactively identify and correct possible issues of fraud and abuse in Athena Health Care Systems’ managed facilities and our corporate office.
When Adams retired, Warner became CEO and served until his death in a plane crash in 2002.
Wannemacher stepped down as CEO and assumed the role of Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors in January 2014.
