Fabricate, erect, and dismantle structural steel bridge framework according to engineered drawings and blueprints, performing such work consistent with corporate mission, values and departmental financial objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Set up hoisting equipment, raising and placing structural-steel members, with basic rigging knowledge for raising and placing structural steel members.
Fasten steel members to the cable of hoist, using chain, cable or rope.
Signal worker operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel members.
Guide member, using tag line in order to guide it into position.
Pull, push or pry steel members into approximate position while member is supported by hoisting device.
Force members into final position, using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks and hand tools.
Align bolt holes in steel members using drift pins or spud wrenches.
Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of members using plumb bob and level.
Bolt align members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded in place.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Set up hoisting equipment, raising and placing structural-steel members, with basic rigging knowledge for raising and placing structural steel members.
Fasten steel members to the cable of hoist, using chain, cable or rope.
Signal worker operating hoisting equipment to lift and place steel members.
Guide member, using tag line in order to guide it into position.
Pull, push or pry steel members into approximate position while member is supported by hoisting device.
Force members into final position, using turnbuckles, crowbars, jacks and hand tools.
Align bolt holes in steel members using drift pins or spud wrenches.
Verify vertical and horizontal alignment of members using plumb bob and level.
Bolt align members to keep them in position until they can be permanently bolted or welded in place.
Cut and weld steel members to make alterations using oxyacetylene welding equipment and supplies.
Load, transport, unload material, tools, equipment and supplies.
Lift, position, and secure materials and work pieces during installation.
Perform minor maintenance or cleaning activities of tools and equipment.
Responsible for observing and complying with all safety and project rules, including wearing required personal safety equipment.
Perform other duties as required.

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Must possess basic reading and mathematical skills.
Some mechanical skills normally obtained from experience with manufacturing or construction processes, including reading a tape measure and using power and hand tools.
