The CRNP is responsible for providing primary care to clinic patients under the supervision of the supervising physician, indirectly under the supervision of the Director of Provider Practice Operations, and ultimately reports to the Chief Operations Officer, Heritage Valley Health System. Requirements Nationally certified and/or state licensed to provide skills as a Family Nurse Practitioner in Pennsylvania and/or Ohio with current prescriptive authority. CPR certification. Must have a Master's degree or a current Medicare Provider number. DEA Registration (as applicable). Must possess ability to work autonomously. Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment. The technologist will be responsible for the proper ordering of the isotopes and the subsequent return to radio pharmacy of unused material. RESPONSIBILITIES: Operates and maintains quality control for all imaging equipment and radioactivity assaying devices in the Nuclear Medicine Department; calibrates cameras and equipment in accordance with internal protocols; verifies proper operation of equipment prior to use; checks radiation-monitoring devices and advises appropriate parties if problems are identified. Prepares radio-pharmaceuticals for patient use, administers radio-pharmaceuticals to patients and performs nuclear medicine procedures; uses appropriate camera in accordance with internal protocols; ensures that sufficient supplies are on hand to perform procedures; follows safeguards and protocols to ensure quality of results. Operates nuclear medicine computers to enhance the diagnostic value of information obtained from nuclear medicine procedures; follows internal protocols when processing computer studies to achieve high quality films by choice of filters, slice selection, display parameters, image intensity and labeling techniques. Maintains records and logs as required by department protocols and licensure requirements; logs patient dose administered, progress notes and other pertinent data. Disposes of and stores radioactive materials as required by law; stores radioactive materials/waste in appropriately labeled and shielded containers; removes radioactive and waste materials from exam rooms to proper storage or disposal location; surveys waste leaving the “hot” lab for radiation levels in excess of established standards. Schedules patients for nuclear medicine examinations, questions patients and/or reviews patient charts for facts of patient history which are pertinent to interpretation of nuclear medicine examinations by the radiologist. Uses sterile or aseptic technique as indicated, performs venipuncture, and administers IV contrast media, under the supervision of a radiologist and within the technologist's scope of practice. Develops and revises patient educational materials. Provides staff and community education as required. Assists with the development and works within comprehensive breast center budget. Participates in professional growth and development opportunities by attending various meetings, conferences and courses. Demonstrates awareness of patient's needs as a total person (physical, spiritual, emotional, intellectual, cultural, etc.), consistent with patient's age and development level. Demonstrates knowledge of and follows Departmental and Ohio Valley guidelines related to guest services activities in the performance of the duties and responsibilities of the position.
