In 1969, Bill founded Herzog Contracting Corp.
When his father started Herzog in 1969, he was the company’s first official employee, starting out as a foreman on asphalt paving projects.
In 1981, Herzog Roofing was born in the Detroit Lakes area with a $30,000 loan from mother, some guidance from father and the hard work of two brothers.
Herzog Roofing is one of only nine roofing contractors in the US to receive the Firestone Inner Circle of Quality award since its inception in 1992.
When Herzog added transit operations and maintenance to its portfolio in 1993, Stan also became the CEO for Herzog Transit Services, Inc.
Sold in 1995, the 1,000+ acre quarry was producing ~2.2 million tons of rock per year.
