The University of California Agriculture and Natural Resources (UC ANR) seeks a Financial Data Analyst (classified as Research Data Analyst 4) to develop, maintain, and optimize financial software solutions that support the Division's financial operations. UC ANR is a complex organization with operations in 58 county offices, three campuses, and nine research and extension centers. As the land-grant arm of the UC system, ANR manages over $300 million in funding and employs over 1,600 academic and staff personnel.
The incumbent applies advanced data analytics, programming, and data integration skills to extract, clean, and analyze large and complex financial datasets from multiple enterprise sources.
This role will collaborate with Resource Planning and Management, Financial Services, IT, and administrative teams to customize and implement applications that enhance financial reporting, budgeting, and operational efficiency. The ideal candidate has a strong background with financial data systems in higher education, proficiency in tools such as SQL, R, SAS, Tableau, and Power BI, with a passion for improving processes in a large, complex academic institution.
This position is a contract appointment that is 100% fixed, and ends three years from date of hire with the possibility of extension if funding permits.
This position is posted as a Research Data Analyst 4 but a Research Data Analyst 3 may be considered depending on the level of experience of the hired applicant.
The home department is Resource, Planning & Management. This position will support new work developing and analyzing a novel database of kindergarten readiness assessment data.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
The Research Data Analyst 2 will work closely with the Executive and Faculty Directors of the EOP to develop code to clean, organize, and harmonize data from large longitudinal education datasets; to implement statistical estimation methods; and to analyze data for research publications. This position requires independent work as well as collaboration with the EOP team. Significant experience using Stata, a strong statistical background, and careful attention to detail is critical for this role.

The Neuromuscular Division of Neurology is seeking a Research Data Analyst (RDA), with clinical data management experience to utilize knowledge from research tools to conduct and analyze research data assuring efficiency and regulatory compliance; collect, compile and perform statistical analysis, data reports and management.
The division is eager to determine novel approaches towards quantifying movement through wearable and video technology and develop novel methods of analyzing MRI data to better characterize disease health for individuals with neuromuscular disease. As disease modifying treatments become available in neuromuscular diseases, we are researching novel approaches to better quantify movement and complement current clinical practice working alongside other professionals in radiology, cardiovascular health, and engineering.
This position focuses on clinical data management and primarily focuses on supporting the labs clinical data collection systems. One would expect to be using REDCap database design and form creation regularly while also aligning with administrative and research data governance politics. A successful candidate would serve as the primary data manager for multiple clinical research studies, ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and efficient data flow from collection through analysis. Learning SQL or having experience with Google Cloud would be preferred.
Projects involve working with both pediatric and adults with neuromuscular diseases in both a lab and clinical environment. The Neuromuscular Division of Neurology is seeking a Research Data Analyst (RDA), with clinical data management experience to utilize knowledge from research tools to conduct and analyze research data assuring efficiency and regulatory compliance; collect, compile and perform statistical analysis, data reports and management.
The division is eager to determine novel approaches towards quantifying movement through wearable and video technology and develop novel methods of analyzing MRI data to better characterize disease health for individuals with neuromuscular disease. As disease modifying treatments become available in neuromuscular diseases, we are researching novel approaches to better quantify movement and complement current clinical practice working alongside other professionals in radiology, cardiovascular health, and engineering.
This position focuses on clinical data management and primarily focuses on supporting the labs clinical data collection systems. One would expect to be using REDCap database design and form creation regularly while also aligning with administrative and research data governance politics. A successful candidate would serve as the primary data manager for multiple clinical research studies, ensuring data integrity, regulatory compliance, and efficient data flow from collection through analysis. Learning SQL or having experience with Google Cloud would be preferred.
Projects involve working with both pediatric and adults with neuromuscular diseases in both a lab and clinical environment. Who We Are: The Center for Early Learning Funding Equity (CELFE) was established to develop and promote research- and data-informed strategies to transform funding of Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) programs for children ages 0-5. Housed in Northern Illinois University's Division of Outreach, Engagement, and Regional Development (OERD), CELFE works in collaboration with academic, data, and research partners across the NIU system as well as with external partners.
CELFE began its work focused primarily on Illinois' ECEC system, in which our Director, Theresa Hawley, Ph.D. has spent almost 30 years as a researcher, advocate, and government systems change leader - working to improve ECEC policies with children and families at the center. Now, CELFE is building on that experience and the passion for systems change to focus more deeply on the funding adequacy and equity of the ECEC system. The scope and reach of CELFE is expanding to include all states and municipalities interested in transformation.
CELFE is only in its fourth year and needs to scale up our internal capacity to meet the growing needs of states and clients interested in understanding how to transform their own ECEC systems through an equity lens, with children and families at the center. The Lab is hiring one Research Analyst 3 for a four-year (through 6/15/2029) full-time appointment, with a possibility for extension subject to availability of funds and/or project requirements.
This position will be part of an analysis team that supports an existing project in collaboration with the National Park Service Inventory and Monitoring Division. The project entails working with staff representatives for NPS I&M and HERS Lab to design and implement a coordinated data analysis plan for pre-existing long-term monitoring datasets collected over the last 20 years for bats and other wildlife, forest, shrubland, rare plant, and wetland communities, freshwater and marine ecosystems, and wildfire and climate impacts on these and other natural resources in national parks. The Research Analyst 3 will use R and Python programming languages, GIS, and related tools to establish and conduct complex and reproducible analysis workflows, summarize information using maps, graphs, tables, and statistical tools, and report findings in technical reports, peer-reviewed manuscripts, and conference presentations. The Research Analyst 3 will work with a Research Associate and the broader analysis team to propose recommendations to NPS I&M for analysis interpretation and translation into management strategies, identify needs for and contribute to updates and revisions to existing data collection and analysis protocols associated with projects, and assist analysis team members in maintaining a dynamic program of quantitative ecological discovery applied to conservation decision-making in and around National Parks and protected areas. The Research Analyst 3 will report to the lab director/project PI and will work closely with the National Park Service and HERS Lab team members to prioritize and complete project tasks.

Key Responsibilities
This position is responsible for the day-to-day coordination and implementation of quantitative analyses and communication of findings for a portfolio of long-term monitoring projects in and around National Parks and protected areas.
70% Data analysis
* Participates in NPS research study design and analysis teams.
* Responsible for analysis of complex study designs and analysis. This will include the use of statistical randomization procedures such as the Generalized Random Tessellation Stratified (GRTS) design approach commonly used in contemporary ecological studies where robust inference and analytical flexibility is required. Analyses of long-term trends in populations and ecosystems where rotating panel designs and unequal-probability design weights need to be accounted for, as well as challenges including imperfect detection and missing data. Approaches required may include Bayesian methods with informative priors.
* Interprets and draws conclusions from analyses that will be used to inform NPS and partner agency management decisions about restoration and conservation actions such as species habitat requirements and efficacy of actions such as herbicide applications.
* Report findings in technical reports and peer-reviewed manuscripts; makes recommendations to the NPS I&M for interpretation and translation into management strategies.
20% Science communication and decision support
* Responsible for refining existing and establishing new analytical and science communication techniques for use with NPS managers.
10% Teamwork, including effective participation in Lab strategic planning

Two years of research experience independently gathering, compiling, and analyzing data using statistical methods (inferential, multivariate analysis, etc.); using statistical software packages to manipulate the data; and preparing narrative or statistical reports and college-level course in statistics (at least six quarter hours); OR An equivalent combination of training and experience.
