1994

1994 DEA becomes part of the Brown & Sharpe Metrology Group.

1999

1999 Messtechnik Wetzlar GmbH (MTWZ) is founded as an independent entity with 20 employees from the then Leitz Messtechnik to further develop the QUINDOS measuring software.

2003

In 2003, Leica Geosystems Mining applied its survey and monitoring expertise to fleet management when it acquired Brisbane-based Tritronics, a leading supplier of integrated machine automation and site management solutions.

2004

2004 The metrology division of Sheffield Automation LLC, as well as the companies ROMER S.A.

2007

2007 The Hexagon Group acquires CogniTens Ltd.

2009

2009 Hexagon announces the acquisition of Technodigit SARL (Lyon, France), developer of 3DReshaper® software and two German companies – Mahr Multisensor GmbH and MYCRONA GmbH, both manufacturers of 3D multisensor coordinate measuring machines (CMMs).

2011

2011 Hexagon Metrology reinforces its position in optical systems through a joint venture with Chinese company Dongguan Seven Ocean Metrology Vision Co., Ltd.

2014

2014 Hexagon acquires Vero Software.

2015

Launched in February 2015, Hexagon’s Mining division traces its origins back some 200 years.

2016

2016 AUGUST Hexagon acquires Apodius GmbH, a start-up specialised in measurement solutions for fibre composite components.

2018

In 2018, Hexagon acquired Guardvant, a provider of specialized safety solutions focusing on operator fatigue and distraction.

2022
