Purpose of Position:
The Production Planner supports the daily production operations by coordinating work order scheduling, monitoring material availability, and ensuring that all planning requirements are met to keep manufacturing lines running efficiently. This role works closely with production leads, purchasing planners, and engineering to identify shortages, track open ECNs/PSRs, and proactively resolve issues that could impact the production plan for the current week and up to three weeks ahead.The planner provides daily updates on work order status, communicates risks, and collaborates with floor leaders to ensure orders are completed on time and production targets are met.
Major Areas of Responsibility:
Daily Production Planning
Review and update daily production schedules in coordination with production leads.
Communicate any constraints, shortages, or changes that may impact the daily plan.
Ensure alignment between scheduled work orders and available resources.
Identify, track, and follow up on all potential obstacles that may impact production, including material shortages, open Engineering Change Notices (ECN) and Production Support Requests (PSR), documentation updates, or pending actions from other departments.
Create, update, and organize work orders.
Cross-Functional Coordination
Partner with production floor leaders to validate daily priorities and ensure units ship on schedule.
Attend weekly planning meetings and present updates on constraints, shortages, and risks.
Coordinate with Quality, Engineering, and Inventory teams to resolve issues affecting the plan.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to streamline planning processes and improve communication flow.
Support internal audits, compliance reviews, and production readiness activities.
Knowledge and Experience - Required:
2+ year of experience in manufacturing, planning, or production support role.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
Experience with planning systems and ERP/MES platforms (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) is required.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Effective communication skills and teamwork orientation.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Risk Management, or closely related field, and at least seven years of related experience and/or training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's Degree is preferred. Experience in a safety leadership role in a manufacturing or related industry environment is required.
Certified Safety Professional (CSP) is required. Associate in Risk Management (ARM) or other professionally recognized certifications in the safety and/or risk management related field preferred.
Ability to drive a strong EHS philosophy and implement programs designed to effectively change behavior and prevent injury using data driven methods.
Excellent ability to develop and present business plans and strategies to influence company decision makers.
Strong project management skills required to ensure EHS plans are executed at all levels on the appropriate timelines.

Job Summary
The Fiber Design Organization is responsible for the usage, maintenance, and documentation of Lightpath's robust fiber network. Daily efforts of a OSP Field Fiber Engineer will include work supporting pre-sales engineering, new customer service installation, maintenance of existing services, asset record management within our GIS database, fiber trace analysis, outside vendor management, customer requests, and other departmental needs. As a OSP Field Fiber Engineer, employees will be expected to take on complex projects, drive innovative solutions, & provide mentoring to less experienced team members. Will support and report into the Fiber Design & Construction organization.
Responsibilities
Own and manage the usage of Lightpath's Fiber Network.
Make decisions regarding the usage of our fiber network and how it is to be leveraged to enable our customers' success. Will include designing fiber routes for various telecom services such as Dark Fiber, Ethernet, SD-WAN, WDM, DIA, Small Cell, and FTT services.
Produce creative solutions using Lightpath assets to deliver unique services for our customers' needs supporting design criteria such as distance limitations, diversity needs, or specific routing requirements.
Lead training for both individuals and groups within the department to help further their knowledge of industry practices and procedures.
Provide mentorship to peers and team members regarding both general work practices & specific project support.
Research existing databases, files, and records for purposes of network design, fiber optimization, customer communications, and/or relocation of fiber facilities.
Create and provide output specifying selected fiber path and required splicing work to be performed for new fiber-based service installations, relocation of existing fiber facilities, and/or restoration of existing traffic.
Ensure company records are accurate by inputting and maintaining data of physical assets in our GIS database.
Provide real-time support for in-field customer maintenance & repair activities.
Analyze, approve, & organize fiber trace data to support service delivery or maintenance activities.
Ensure inventory of fiber usage & customer service records are accurate by inputting and maintaining circuit data in our GIS database.
Establish and maintain effective communications and a professional working relationship with customers both internal and external, including Lightpath service delivery, project management, circuit design, OSP construction, sales engineering, vendors, and customers.
Organize workday efficiently to maximize productivity by utilizing proper time management techniques.
Assist in the accomplishment of company objectives or needs by performing other related duties as assigned by manager.
Qualifications
7+ years of telecom fiber network experience, preference within construction or fiber design departments. 4-Year Degree in Engineering is a plus.
Ability to function independently and self-motivate.
Strong interpersonal skills for supporting and communicating with a variety of cross functional teams.
Strong aptitude for training and mentoring less experienced team members.
Proficiency using & leveraging GIS-based data management system.
Proficiency in usage of Google Earth & creating/managing kmz files.
Knowledge & experience regarding fiber construction practices.
Proficiency in the MS Office suite of tools including MS Visio.
Experience using Salesforce.com platform is a plus.
Experience using AutoCad is a plus.
Proficient analytical, organizational, and time management skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize assignments.

Purpose of Position:
