The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
Interpret customer and internal drawings, specifications, processes, and procedures. Responsible for BOM and Route creation and maintenance, quote support, and process/product improvement. Update/create manufacturing and tooling plans with illustrations. Coordinate manufacturing and tooling plans with design. Work with production personnel to build the product in a cost-effective way that meets the customer's requirements.
Perform reviews of new drawings/specs and spec revisions. Analyze designs for producibility. Assess new program start-up issues.

Qualifications:
Enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program from an accredited four-year college or university with coursework in engineering or other closely related field of study preferred.
Proficiency in PC and CAD software is essential.
Strong analytical skills required, including the ability to identify problems, interpret complex technical instructions, gather and analyze data, and draw sound conclusions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are necessary.

Understand the interdependencies between safety artifacts and other engineering activities (e.g., requirements, design, and testing) within the product development lifecycle.
Communicate the system needs to internal and external consumers of the design
Knowledge of the system engineering development process, including requirements development and management per SAE ARP4754B.
Experience working in safety-specific tools such as CAFTA or RELEX, as well as Microsoft Office (Intermediate Excel required).
Certification & Compliance
Build safety artifacts required to show compliance for certification of civil aircraft under 14 CFR Parts 23, 25, 27, and/or 29.
Review and support development and execute Certification Plans.
Coordinate with certification authorities to seek clarification on requirements.
Review certification guidance material (e.g., Advisory Circulars) and incorporate necessary guidance into safety strategies.
Participate in Systems Design Reviews to ensure safety is integrated from conceptual design through final integration.
Analyze mechanical or system failures to determine root cause and develop corrective actions based on safety principles.
Customer Interaction & Supplier Technical Oversight
Coordinate with customers and suppliers to review technical data, safety processes, and design compliance.
Communicate system safety needs and constraints to both internal and external design consumers.
Compare design solutions specifically through the lens of safety and risk mitigation.
Complete special projects and tasks assigned by Group Lead
Qualifications
Level Requirements (Minimum):
Education
Four (4) year degree in Engineering (Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems).
Other Engineering fields may be considered.
Experience
Five (5+) years of Aerospace Engineering experience.
Proven experience across much of the product development lifecycle.
Experience in Mechanical Systems, Avionics, Flight Control Systems, Landing Gear, Hydraulics, or similar complex aircraft systems

As a Quality Engineer III, you'll provide leadership in quality and inspection planning, change management, and Bill of Material (BOM) planning. In this role, you'll ensure consistency, accuracy, and reliability across processes and quality controls by guiding review boards, approving specifications, analyzing corrective actions, and conducting audits.
Summary pay range: $77,968 - $130,228 annual salary.
The selected individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following obligations:
* Comply with Hexcel policies, procedures, and Code of Business Conduct.
* Review contracts, drawings, and specifications to develop quality plans and inspection criteria; approve production planning for quality, first article, and inspection requirements.
* Create and maintain quality documentation to support accuracy and compliance.

* Expertise in quality management systems, compliance standards (AS9100, Nadcap), and advanced analytics.
* Proven ability in strategic planning, supplier quality management, and cross-functional leadership.
* Strong leadership, communication, and influencing skills with a strategic decision-making mindset.
* Experience with digital transformation in quality, predictive tools, and data analytics platforms.
* Advanced problem-solving skills and innovation mindset; proficiency in Lean/Six Sigma (certification strongly preferred).
* ASQ certifications (CQE preferred) and Certified Lead Auditor training desirable.
* Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, including MBD; familiarity with measurement and inspection equipment.
* Experience with composite materials and lean manufacturing is a plus.
