HHHunt company history timeline

1966

It all started in 1966 when Harry H. Hunt III, our founder, saw the need for faculty and student housing at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.

1991

He led the residential real estate company’s first foray into seniors housing in 1991. (That community, Spring Arbor of Thomasville in Thomasville, North Carolina, offers assisted living and memory care and is still in the company’s portfolio.)

1998

Since Homes for Hope began in 1998, over 70 homes have been built, generating over $10 million helping people living in poverty in 17 countries.
