Mark Hetfield is President and CEO of HIAS, which is the oldest refugee organization in the world, founded in 1881 as the Hebrew Immigrant Aid Society to welcome Jewish refugees fleeing to the United States. Today, HIAS operates on five continents to protect refugees of all faiths and ethnicities. An attorney, Hetfield frequently appears in media as an expert in refugee law and policy with nearly 30 years of experience in the field, having worked in both the public and private sectors.
