Pros of working at HBC

There really wasn’t much of one. Started as a decent experience but corporate turnover at the top, lost any care for the employees. HBc is siding deceptive tactics in sake of profit. They mismanage their resources and allow drama to dictate their planning. The mission statement is a farce and not adhered to

Cons of working at HBC

Working there was frustrating because of poor management, lack of communication, and constant disorganization. Employees were overworked and undervalued, with no clear direction or support. The toxic work environment made collaboration difficult, as negativity and favoritism were rampant. There was little opportunity for growth or recognition, leaving many feeling stagnant and unmotivated. Resources were scarce, making it hard to complete tasks efficiently. Ultimately, the culture drained morale and made every day feel like a struggle.

HBC Benefits

There wasn’t a single positive benefit to working there. The lack of appreciation, poor leadership, and constant micromanagement overshadowed any potential upsides. Compensation was subpar, with no perks or incentives to motivate employees. The toxic environment fostered distrust and resentment among staff, making teamwork nearly impossible. Opportunities for growth were nonexistent, leaving employees stuck in dead-end roles. Even basic workplace needs, like support or clear communication, were absent, creating a demoralizing and thankless experience.

What do you like best about HBC's CEO and the leadership team?

The CEO’s poor leadership stems from a lack of vision, accountability, and empathy. They consistently fail to provide clear direction, leaving employees confused and unmotivated. Decision-making is reactive rather than strategic, often prioritizing short-term gains over long-term success. Communication is scarce, with little transparency or engagement with the team. Their unwillingness to address issues or take responsibility fosters a toxic culture of blame and mistrust, ultimately hindering growth and driving away talent.

How would you improve HBC's culture?

The leadership at the company is morally bankrupt, consistently prioritizing personal gain over integrity and the well-being of employees. Ethical principles are ignored in favor of shortcuts and self-serving decisions, creating a toxic culture of distrust. Transparency and accountability are nonexistent, and exploitation is disguised as strategy. This lack of moral compass erodes employee morale, stifles innovation, and damages the company’s reputation. True progress is impossible without ethical leadership and a commitment to doing what’s right.

How did you prepare for the HBC interview?

To prepare for my interview, I first researched the company, its culture, and the role I was applying for. I reviewed the job description and aligned my experiences with the required skills. I practiced answering common interview questions, focusing on showcasing my strengths and addressing potential weaknesses. Additionally, I prepared thoughtful questions to ask the interviewer and ensured I had a professional outfit ready. I also took time to relax and mentally prepare the day before.

How does your compensation at HBC compare to the industry average?

It was below the market, while making unusual time requests and consistently places under qualified and underpaid individuals in high stress scenarios

What's the diversity at HBC like?

Diversity was fine, if you constantly need to be reminded that manny speaks Spanish…. They give him a sombrero sometimes too

What brings you the most joy at HBC?

A vile work culture that is toxic, characterized by constant negativity, lack of support, and disrespectful behavior. Employees are often pitted against each other, fostering competition rather than collaboration. Communication is poor, and favoritism runs rampant, leading to unfair treatment. Micromanagement and unreasonable expectations create stress, while employee well-being is ignored. Feedback is rare, and when given, it’s harsh or unconstructive. This environment breeds low morale, high turnover, and a general sense of dread among staff.
