CDL Driver Job in Maybrook, NY
Responsible for transporting building material products to branch yards, existing homes, and/or construction job sites in a safe, accurate and timely manner. Strong emphasis on excellent customer service and customer satisfaction. Use proper material handling practices to load, secure and unload material for delivery.
Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesCustomer Service
Acknowledge, greet, and assist customers in a timely and professional manner
Identify the needs and provide the appropriate level of assistance to the customer
Effectively research and resolve customer complaints and conflicts
Be respectful of customer s property
Understand the marketplace
Know product features
Report potential new jobsites
Verify the accuracy of the load to be delivered
Properly strap and secure load
Obey traffic laws, and follow established traffic and transportation procedures
Follow guidelines for load placement at job sites
Ensure that each delivery is done accurately, safely and in a timely manner
Communicate to management jobsite problems and or complaints
Work efficiently to minimize truck turn time in the yard
Inspect and maintain truck supplies and equipment, such as gas, oil, tires, lights, and brakes, to ensure that trucks are in proper working condition
Report any mechanical problems encountered with the trucks and associated equipment
Maintain a neat and clean vehicle
Stage loads effectively for delivery
Choose product of appropriate quality
Load and secure material on delivery truck
Material Handling and Equipment Usage
Exercise principles of material handling and equipment usage to protect company assets
Safe and proper use of equipment
Understand and follow receiving policy and procedure
Prepare for and unload incoming product efficiently
Effectively report receiving variances to the appropriate person

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
High school diploma or GED not required. Must be a minimum of 21 years old.
The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals and point of sale documents. Along with ability to read and understand maps and route directions.
Basic math skills including the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written or oral form
Certificates and License:
CDL A or B license required; driving record must be acceptable to Company standards.

Driving trucks and working outside in a variety of seasonal weather conditions.
Deliver to branch yards, existing homes, and construction job sites.

Will vary depending on season and circumstances. Involves overtime, weekends and longer work weeks at certain times of the year.

Proficiency in the English language
Speak and hear sufficiently for effective interpersonal communication
Repetitive lifting and moving of products and materials
Lift and/or move up to 80lbs. individually; on occasions may encounter heavier weightlifting requirements
Lift and/or move over 80lbs. with the assistance of another person
Required to remain on your feet for up to 4 hours at a time
Manual dexterity of hands and fingers in order to perform such tasks as operating a forklift, type on a computer keyboard and communicate with a hand-held radio
Foot dexterity in order to operate a forklift safely
Full range of motion with hand grip to shoulders in order to do such tasks as lifting and moving product and materials
On a daily basis you may be required to climb stairs or ladders in order to perform such tasks as remove or place products into and from a storage area
Frequently required to stoop to avoid an overhead obstruction, kneel or crouch to remove or place products to and from a storage areas or similar tasks
Vision demands predominantly for safety reasons include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth and ability to adjust focus
