Ethical Culture Fieldston School is a progressive PreK-12 independent school that has been serving students from throughout New York City and the surrounding suburbs since 1878. ECFS offers a rich curriculum in the arts, sciences, and humanities. A co-ed, nonsectarian school, it serves a diverse community of about 1,700 students on two campuses -- one in the Riverdale section of the Bronx, and the other in Manhattan. The Upper School, located in the Bronx, is comprised of approximately 600 students and over 100 faculty members.

The Upper School is seeking experienced classroom teachers available on an on-call basis to serve as substitute teachers for 9-12 grades with expertise in the above areas. The ideal candidates will have strong classroom management skills, familiarity with hands-on teaching practices, relevant experience with middle school students, and the ability to teach multiple academic subjects. Fieldston Upper School is seeking personable and enthusiastic professionals who are inspired by working closely with adolescents.
Subjects currently offered at ECFS Upper School: English, Ethics, History, Languages, Math, Learning Center, Library, Music, Physical Education, Science, Theater/Dance, Visual Arts.
Substitutes are needed for half day, full day, and extended subbing schedules throughout the school year. We provide substitute teachers with as much advance notice as possible, a lesson plan from the classroom teacher, administrative support, and competitive compensation.

Responsibilities
This individual will be respsonsible for the following:
• Client identification based on the Strategic Business Plan
• Business development strategies including go/no-go evaluations
• Assignment of business development contacts to appropriate staff
• Monitoring of business development success and failures
• Create/Maintain relationships with clients
• Market to new and existing clients for obtaining project work for the company
• Function as a Client/Program/Project Manager/senior technical specialist as appropriate
• Prepare reports for the progress of each project regarding budget, quality, scheduled targets and other contractual commitments with the Vice President within their business region.
• Develop the following project services in coordination with either the Vice President and/or Practice Leader and Discipline Manager(s) to complete the project for the client:
• Project work plans
• Man-hour budgets and schedules for projects and their component work packages with the establishment of performance indexes concerning cost and schedule in relation to budgeted performance (The Principal shall review with and obtain input from the Discipline Manager(s) necessary to complete the project with regard to staffing as it relates to schedule and budget)
• Develop and use project scheduling systems and procedures including master project schedules
• Coordinate with the Vice President on all activities related to business development including:
• Client identification based on the Strategic Business Plan

• Obtain Thought Leader recognition by presenting at conferences, publishing papers, etc.

Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in engineering or architecture or a related technical field required; master's degree preferred
• Licensed engineer or architect or license/registration in a related technical field
• Demonstrated experience and proficiency in project management related to large scale projects of considerable complexity within the Design Consulting Industry
• Demonstrated success in business development within the Design Consulting Industry
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative, to maintain confidentiality, to meet deadlines and to work in a team environment.
• Able to work closely with staff as assigned by the Practice Leader and Discipline Manager(s) and maintain a positive attitude to complete projects for the client(s) according to the agreed upon schedule and budget
• Demonstrated skill in public speaking to industry associations and C-suite level clients
• Membership in a variety of professional Design Consulting-related practice organizations, may serve as national board member or officer
• Active participation in professional, government, charitable, and social organizations and programs within the region
