JOB SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Director, Office of Healthcare Coordination (OHC), as well as the clinical guidance and supervision of the Chief Medical Officer, the Residential Treatment Staff Psychiatrist is responsible for the direct provision of psychiatric services to the clients admitted to the Intensive Treatment Units (ITUs).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Provide direct psychiatric care to all clients as appropriate, maintaining a minimum of 1 episode of care weekly for all admitted clients and additional episodes as clinically warranted.
Act as the attending psychiatric provider for all residential clients admitted to the ITU.
Maintain appropriate and compliant documentation of psychiatric services provided, including, but not limited to, orders, progress notes, medical notes, as well as admission and discharge summaries. Ensure that all session and episodic notes are entered within 24hours of the episode's occurrence.
Participate in staff education and training.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to maintain and ensure clients receive the highest-level of psychiatric care.
Work directly with nursing and clinical teams to ensure safety, proper care and appropriate guidance for the clients in residential treatment.
OTHER DUTIES:
Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
All required training, certifications and licensures must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client's treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
