Highland Park UMC company history timeline
By the summer of 2009 the former Munger Place congregation could no longer afford to keep its doors open, and the larger United Methodist church organization in North Texas stepped in.
Jerimiah Booker came to The Park in 2009 as the ninth pastor.
In 2011 the beautiful and historic Munger Place Church was renovated and re-opened to become an East Dallas satellite campus for HPUMC, allowing us to now offer five types of worship opportunities on two campuses.
In 2013, Paul Rasmussen became the 11th senior pastor to serve this congregation of over 15,000 members.
The Archive itself will have its 50th anniversary in 2015.
Under his leadership, the congregation and staff continue the legacy of outreach in the community and world, with HPUMC celebrating 100 years of helping people become deeply devoted followers of Jesus Christ in 2016.
She was appointed in 2017, and brings with her a host of experience in communications, relationship counseling, leadership development and soul stirring preaching.
In 2017, HPUMC launched a new campus in North Dallas, The Grove Church located at 4525 Rickover Dr, Dallas, TX 75244.
In 2019, The Beyond Campaign concluded and built a multipurpose 65,000 square foot youth and DisABILITY ministry building.
In 2020, HPUMC announced the launching of a new church that will meet in the House of Blues.
