Other opportunities include management experience and internal Kelsey-Seybold departmental rotations based on the fellow's needs and interests. The Vice President of Operations serves as the preceptor for the program. Additionally, other members of the executive leadership team provide support and guidance throughout the year.

THE ROLE
The Civil Highway Design Engineer will be responsible for the planning and designing of road and transportation infrastructure, ensuring safety, efficiency, and environmental considerations. The primary project focus will be on federal highways, high-speed, multi-lane systems, and bridges for DOT clients. These responsibilities include:
Work with clients to understand their vision and scope of the project.
Analyze survey data, traffic patterns, and other relevant data to optimize road design and ensure functionality and safety.
Develop detailed plans for new roads, highways, and related infrastructure.
Leverage engineering design software to draft plans, drawings, and models.
Involved in the improvement of existing road infrastructure, ensuring its continued safety and efficiency.
Ensure that engineering designs comply with relevant DOT regulations and safety standards.
Draft technical writing pieces such as Requests for Proposals, report writing, project specifications, and memorandums.
Provide construction administration services during the construction phase of the project.

YOUR STRENGTHS
Bachelor's degree in civil engineering or equivalent ABET-accredited engineering program
Engineer-In-Training (EIT) professional designation required

POSITION SUMMARY
The Junior Engineer & Planning Coordinator plays a dual role in supporting engineering activities and coordinating production schedules to meet Estimated Ship Dates (ESD).
