The H3 Welder will produce quality weldments, requiring welds in lengths of 4”- 6”, on stainless and carbon steel materials in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions. Primary Location: United States (US) - Iowa - Waterloo As a Pipefitting Maintenance employee with John Deere Waterloo Works, you will: Install, inspect, maintain, and repair all factory pipe systems, such as water, gas, oil, and sewer in a production environment focused on safety, quality, and teamwork. Minimum Qualifications: * Must be at least 18 years of age. * Must have at least one of the following: * High School Diploma or G.E.D. * National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) * At least 3 years of manufacturing work experience * Journeyperson's card in Pipefitting Maintenance or at least 2 years of industrial pipefitting experience (or equivalent Military experience and training). * Ability to perform manual tasks related to described job duties for duration of work shift; including but not limited to frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting. * Ability and willingness to work potential overtime (including weekends). Total 100% Requirements Qualifications and Essential Skills: Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Ability to pass required AWS welder qualification tests within first 60 days of employment. Ability to weld in flat, horizontal, and vertical positions. Ability to complete welds in various joint configurations. Basic computer skills are required; must be able to use computer systems to look-up information, clock-in/clock-out, and report work activities. Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook is preferred. Ability to read blueprints at a basic level. Ability to read a tape measure up to 1/16”. Good math skills are required; ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles, and vibration, and occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. Employee may be exposed to hazardous chemicals. Employee is required to wear steel toed shoes, gloves, and safety glasses. The noise level in the plant shop environment is moderately loud. In addition to standard PPE, welders are required to wear a welding helmet and may be required to wear leather clothing and ear plugs. Handles hazardous waste according to company policy and participates in annual hazardous waste training.
