Ensures equipment availability by completing preventative maintenance schedules and installing component and part upgrades. Complete dry service on equipment including lubrication of components, fluid checks, and inspection of all hoses and belts. Complete wet service on equipment including refilling fluids (engine oil, coolant, brake fluid, windshield fluid, etc.) Inspect, service, and replace trailer parts, including tire checks. Maintain hub and axles and adjust or replace when required. Service and repair the brake, electrical, and hydraulic system. Ensure that equipment meets the U.S. Department of Transportation road safety requirements. Compile inspection reports, document repairs, and report all findings to management. Perform more extensive repairs to equipment with the supervision of an II or III Tech Have a sound understanding of repair tools, equipment, and testing machinery. Ensure housekeeping standards are met within the shop. May be required to cross-train and perform other duties. Essential Qualities for Success Intermediate to advanced mechanical skills encompassing small engine, diesel, and hydraulic systems diagnostics and repairs.
