    Job Description Responsible for the preparation of all foods for the residents, guests and employees in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. The cook prepares, seasons and cooks all foods including soups, meats, vegetables, main entrees, desserts and other foodstuff for consumption in the facility. Ensures continued compliance in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Essential duties and Responsibilities Duties are determined by the facility and may include, but are not limited to the following: Must have the ability to increase or decrease recipes to meet the needs of the facility census. Report any equipment failure and monitor all temperatures of the refrigeration and units during shift. Follow sanitation and safety regulations while performing duties. Prepares and serves meals according to recipe guides and modification guidelines. Prepares food by methods that conserve nutritive values, flavor and appearance: food that is palatable, attractive and served at the proper temperature. Completes cleaning duties and monitors completion of duties assigned to other staff. Inspects dietary department regularly to ensure that it is safe and sanitary. Summary Must have the ability to perform a large variety of miscellaneous functions to include washing dishes, unpacking groceries, cleaning equipment, cleaning floors and spills and any other functions as directed by your supervisor in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines and regulations. Must know how to operate and properly clean equipment in the kitchen used for food preparation. Essential duties and Responsibilities Duties are determined by the facility and may include, but are not limited to the following: Recognize and practice sanitary procedures related to infection control. Understand therapeutic diets to accurately serve resident meal trays. Wash dishes and tables as necessary after each meal according to established procedures. Assist with keeping the record of diet changes current, resident likes and dislikes, so tray tickets remain up dated and current. Must understand Diet standards and proper serving sizes. Prepare tray line beverages such as milks, juices, supplements, water pitchers and coffee pots. Set up dining room for meal service, providing individual needs at each table. Prepare trays for each resident according to tray tickets and serve meals until all trays are served. Note any changes on tray tickets so changes can be made for accuracy. Chart meal intake records accurately. Complete cleaning duties as listed for shift daily and weekly. Clean dining room after meals are completed. Sanitize tables and clean up spilled food from floor. Remove garbage from dining room. Keep garbage receptacles sanitized before replacing liners. Check cleaning charts for completion of duties before checking out. Must be able to perform all duties in a timely manner.
