PRIMARY PURPOSE:

What You'll Do:
Maintain facility, vehicles and equipment to company standards
Perform general equipment maintenance and mechanical work
Load and unload trucks
Operate loaders, fork-lifts, tractors and location equipment in a safe manner
Blend dry and liquid fertilizer with automated blend systems
Load and deliver product to customers and/or custom application equipment
Maintain delivery equipment to DOT standards and perform pre-post trip inspections
Ensure all paperwork is completed for loading, delivering and unloading product at the location and to customers per Nutrien Ag Solutions requirements
Maintain a clean and safe working environment
Follow all Nutrien Ag Solutions Safety Rules
Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

The salary range for this role, in Hilo, HI location, is between $19.00- $25.00. The Community School Coordinator serves an integral role in the Community School Strategy. The Coordinator will support Pāhoa High and Intermediate Schoolʻs goal to connect and activate school communities through increased school - community - family pilina (relationship & interconnectedness), greater access to services and increased family and intentional systemic change through:

The Coordinator position plays an integral role in the school to create a thriving community-based hub of learning, partnerships and connections. They will work in close partnership with the school principal, community partners, parents, students and community schools leadership team (CS Hui) to design and implement a community schools strategy that is community-based, uplifts assets and resources and meets the needs of each unique school community.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES (based on School and Community Need)
Support the development and implementation of the Community Schools Implementation Plan in coordination with school leaders, National Consultant and other key stakeholders. Duties may include:
Support the principal on the integration of partners and community members into school governance structures (i.e., School Leadership, School Safety, Child Study and Attendance teams).
Convene and staff the site-based Community School Leadership Team (CS Hui), a coordinating body that may comprise of administrators, teachers, support services staff, partners, parents and others to identify needs, set priorities and coordinate the strategy.
Support the ongoing nurturing of relationships to further integrate community-based programs and supports based on student, school and community needs. Duties may include:
Coordinate needs and resource assessment activities on an ongoing basis, employing a variety of strategies and including a broad cross-section of stakeholders.
Support existing community-based initiatives and explore other opportunities within the community.
Act as a friendly, consistent and approachable presence to support the school community.
Act as a thought partner and collaborator in the overall community schools strategy. Duties may include:
Participate in capacity-building activities including trainings, retreats and other school and project-wide events, as appropriate.
Represent the initiative in various communication opportunities and participate in advocacy activities to promote the initiative, as appropriate.
Support the evaluation of the community school by coordinating and submitting the collection of data, timely submission of reports, forms and responses to other requests in partnership with school and project leadership.
Delivery through a trauma-informed, family-centered and strengths-based approach in alignment with the community schools vision.
QUALIFICATIONS
Associate or Bachelor's degree in education, social work or related field OR three (3) years of experience in public health, education, social work, community development and/or leadership training required or related experience;
Experience in grassroots community outreach and organizing including building and facilitating partnerships and relationships, preferred;
Experience in coordinating comprehensive program activities in a school or institutional setting, including understanding and knowledge of Hawai'i DOE system, preferred;
Knowledge of school community and ability to grow and nurture new and existing relationships within the community;
Working knowledge of computer software applications such as Word, Excel, email, online calendar, Zoom (and other virtual meeting tools) and Google Suite;
Can analyze and collaboratively problem solve issues;
Good organizational and ability to multitask and prioritize;
Possess strong interpersonal skills and ability to work, communicate and collaborate effectively and inclusively with a wide variety of constituencies;
Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
Exhibit courteous and professional demeanor towards staff, administration, teachers, families, students and community partners via verbal, written, physical, and electronic correspondence;
Requires strong oral and written communication skills;
Comfort facilitating and conducting workshops in front of large audiences on a regular basis; preferred;
Ability to maintain confidentiality and privacy.

DESIRED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
Experience or background in Native Hawaiian culture, Native Hawaiian language skills, and/or years of experience working with Native Hawaiian communities.
Experience in school communities and local community organizations strongly preferred.
Reports to: RCSF Project Director
Coordinator will primarily work at the designated school and will work collaboratively with the principal and CS hui. Coordinator will also participate in weekly skill-building sessions to support professional development, ongoing training and support with other CS coordinators around the state.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
$27.64/hour for 40 hours per week throughout the calendar year. Employee will work for DOE intersessions (fall, winter, spring and summer breaks).
Employee will receive 20 paid time off days per year & paid holidays.

Position is fully funded through June 2025.

Duties and Responsibilities
1.*Performs a variety of tasks to ensure the operational status of the telescope and its electrical power systems, drive and control systems, intercom and data acquisition systems.
2.*Uses typical electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, function generators, voltmeters and logic probes, to diagnose electronic and electrical failures.
3.*Makes repairs to a large variety of devices including digital and analog circuits, power supplies, relays, tachometers, amplifiers, and encoders. Update schematics as necessary.
4.*Assists visiting astronomers by providing technical support in adapting their scientific instruments to be used on the telescope.
5.*Reads and interprets design changes generated by engineers. Implement these changes be re-wiring and modifying electronic equipment and analyzing the effects of these changes on the telescope and/or its data acquisition system.
6.*Reads, interprets and updates a maintenance log. Carries out the instructions of supervisory engineers. Maintains an inventory of parts and performs a variety of non-technical jobs due to the remote nature of the observatory.
7.*Assemble and fabricate electronic/electrical components such as wires, cables, PC boards, connectors, terminal blocks and junction boxes.
8.*Maintain telescope and facility electrical and electronic systems
9.*Able to utilize electronic and electrical test equipment.

Minimum Qualifications
1.Possession of an Associate Degree in Electronics Technology with 5 year(s) of experience or Bachelor's Degree in Electronics Engineering or related field and 3 year(s) of progressively responsible professional experience with responsibilities for support work (i.e. troubleshooting, repair, calibrating and maintaining electronic instrumentation); or any equivalent combination of education and/or professional work experience which provides the required education, knowledge, skills and abilities as indicated.
2.Considerable working knowledge of principles, practices and techniques in the area of electronics as demonstrated by the broad knowledge of the full range of pertinent standard and evolving concepts, principles and methodologies.
3.Considerable working knowledge and understanding of applicable federal and state laws, rules, regulations and theories and systems associated with electronics or electromechanical work and safety in the workplace.
