Hilscher-Clarke Electric company history timeline

1945

On December 28, 1945, the present Hilscher-Clarke Electric Company (HCE) was incorporated under the laws of the State of Ohio.

1946

On January 4, 1946, Hilscher-Clarke Electric Company was incorporated under the laws of Ohio.

1959

On the death of Walt Hilscher in 1959, Roy Clarke became the President of the company.

1965

When Roy Clarke retired in 1965, he was succeeded as President by William Clarke.

1981

Foster is a 1981 graduate of Stark State College of Technology with an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.

1983

Foster has been employed by Hilscher-Clarke since 1983.

1985

In 1985, Donald Colaner was named President to succeed William Clarke, who was named Chairman of the Board.

1987

John began his career with Hilscher-Clarke in 1987 as a Draftsman.

1988

Bergert is a 1988 graduate of Stark State College of Technology with an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology.

1993

In 1993, John was promoted to Automation Division Manager, and given the challenge to grow the division from a 2-man team and gain new customers.

1994

Colaner retired at the end of 1994, but continued to serve on the companys Board of Directors as Chairman and Vice-Chairman respectively.

1997

He has been employed by Hilscher-Clarke since 1997 and has previously served as a Field Superintendent.

1999

HCE had its first corporate acquisition in 1999 of Borden Kircher Electric in Coshocton, Ohio.

He is a 1999 graduate of Erskine College with a Bachelor of Science in Physical Education.

Brian joined Hilscher-Clarke in 1999 as an Electrical Apprentice through the Canton Electrical Joint Apprenticeship program.

2002

In 2002, State Electrical Engineering Company, LLC was formed as the first additional operating company of HCE. It offers full design and engineering services to clients.

2004

Mike began his career at Hilscher-Clarke in 2004 as an Electrical Apprentice for the Canton Electrical Joint Apprenticeship program.

2005

In 2005, a milestone in the corporate history of HCE was reached.

He earned his inside journeyman wireman card from the Canton Electrical Joint Apprenticeship program in 2005.

2006

Barb joined Hilscher-Clarke in 2006.

2007

Zwick has been employed by Hilscher-Clarke since 2007.

In 2007, Tony was promoted to manager for the new Advanced Testing division.

2008

Paul joined Hilscher-Clarke in 2008 as a foreman and service technician.

2012

Corey started with Hilscher-Clarke in 2012 as an Electrical Apprentice for the Steubenville Electrical Joint Apprenticeship program.

2013

Maya began her career with Hilscher-Clarke in 2013 as an Accountant.

2014

Ben joined Hilscher-Clarke in 2014 as an Electrical Apprentice.

He was later promoted to lead technician and industrial superintendent in 2014, where he performed maintenance and acceptance testing on power distribution equipment, among other responsibilities.

2018

Jeff joined Hilscher-Clarke in 2018 with an extensive background in finance and operations.

After managing industrial projects for the Canton office, he became the Branch Manager for the new Tri-State office in 2018, building a large multi-state presence that specializes in the industrial, and oil & gas industries.

2019

In 2019, he became the branch manager for the Akron office, where he took his experience from his previous role and reapplied it to form a cohesive, strengthened team with an enhanced drive for growth and success.

Vickie began her career at Hilscher-Clarke in 2019 as a level 1 helpdesk technician.

2020

Jeff was named the company’s Chief Operating Officer in 2020.

She was later promoted to IT Manager and System Administrator in 2020, and is the youngest manager at Hilscher-Clarke.
