The Hinds Community College in Raymond, Mississippi, is one of the
largest community colleges in Mississippi and offers comprehensive
educational programs in academic, career/technical and secondary fields. The school offers a variety of extracurricular and co-curricular
activities to make student life exciting. Students can gain professional
experience by joining the student government or Phi Theta Kappa honor
society, contribute to the Hindsonian Newspaper or cultivate a talent in
dance, choir or musical groups. The college provides job placement assistance, counseling services and a
writing center to all students. Academics include associate's degrees in a General Program of Study or in
preparation for a baccalaureate degree. Technical programs are offered in
a variety of fields, including Agribusiness Management Technology,
Construction Engineering Technology, Early Childhood Development
Technology and Paralegal Technology. Technical programs can be completed
in as little as one to two years. One year certificate programs are offered in Automotive Technology, Meat
Merchandising, Cosmetology and more. Admissions require students to submit an official high school or GED
transcript, ACT/SAT scores, apply for financial aid and scholarships and
see a Hinds counselor prior to your first semester. The school offers need- and merit-based scholarships to eligible
students. Other forms of financial aid include work study programs, state
