The ability to acclimate and endure outdoor environmental conditions is paramount. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hand to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The Proctor provides basic troubleshooting support in coordination with IT, supports eLearning students and faculty, and communicates with external testing partners as needed. Flexible work hours are required to meet testing demands. Job Duties * Administer and supervise tests in person and remotely to support the student services and instructional needs of the College and the community. * Verify student photo identification upon arrival; review the class roster and approved testing materials; and provide clear guidance and assistance to support a positive testing experience. * Enter passwords and access credentials required for test administration. * Ensure testers adhere to policies and procedures as outlined by the respective instructor, college/university, agency, and/or company. * Stay current on Mississippi Virtual Community College (MSVCC), Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI), Pearson VUE, ACCUPLACER, ACT WorkKeys, Nocti Business Solutions, National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT), High School Equivalency Test (HiSET), College-Level Examination Program (CLEP), Electronics Technician Association (ETA), and National Institute for Metalworking Skills (NIMS) policies and procedures, obtaining certification when applicable. Become trained and familiar with other assessments as needed. * Monitor the assessment environment to ensure a professional, positive atmosphere that supports optimal test performance for all examinees and reflects a welcoming, student-focused experience. * Maintain a secure testing environment at all times, including safeguarding testing materials, access credentials, student records, test logs, and all test-related documents, and maintaining confidentiality of documentation. * Report any problems incurred during the testing process in a timely manner to the appropriate Dean, instructor, college/university, agency, and/or company. * Establish and maintain a testing schedule that supports student, instructional, and community needs, including maintaining a master schedule of all assessment activity. * Review the MSVCC proctor database. * Distribute information to consortium colleges and testing partners as required. * Coordinate with IT to ensure all computers are functioning properly and required software is installed prior to scheduled tests. Proactively submit Help Desk tickets and follow up for service as needed. * Test and troubleshoot during exam administration, as needed, to ensure an optimal customer/tester experience. * Provide technical support to eLearning students and faculty. * Stay current on information presented on the MGCCC eLearning and MSVCC websites. * Utilize Microsoft Office applications and other College-approved software systems to support efficient communication and service delivery. * Maintain effective working relationships with College personnel, students, and members of the community by providing courteous, responsive, and solution-focused service. * Answer telephone calls and emails in an effective, professional, and timely manner. * Order exams and request purchase orders as needed. * Upgrade skills and performance through staff development. * Maintain exceptional adherence to work schedules, testing timelines, and College policies. * Work evenings, weekends, and alternate schedules as required to meet testing needs and support student access. * Perform duties and responsibilities with the utmost integrity and maintain a service-oriented approach. * Perform other duties as assigned by the Dean of Student Services and/or the Dean of Teaching and Learning. Mandatory Qualifications (M1) Minimum of a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution of higher education. (M2) Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. (M3) Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines, scheduling responsibilities, and related records with accuracy and minimal supervision. (M4) Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, including customer service skills. (M5) Technology troubleshooting experience or demonstrated technical aptitude. (M6) Experience using online learning platforms and/or learning management systems in an academic or professional setting. Desirable Qualifications (D1) Experience in a community college or higher education setting. (D2) Experience with SCT Banner or a comparable student information system. (D3) Experience using proctoring, assessment, or test scheduling platforms (e.g., Smarter Proctoring, Register Blast).
