Brookfield Properties has an in-office need for a Development Intern for Summer 2026 at the corporate office in Chicago, IL.
Position Overview
This intern will work largely on project-based assignment supporting our Development function at the company working with leaders up to our Chief Development Officer.
Responsibilities:
* Accurately coordinates and assembles project financial reporting as required, including proforma updates, partner reporting, draw requests, internal and external company reporting and additional tasks as assigned
* Assists Developers with proforma preparation, monitors and verifies the integrity and accuracy of the development proformas; monitors and evaluates investment decisions throughout the project
* Assists Development Managers with all budgets, including corporate departmental budgets and capital planning for the development pipeline
* Assists with the completion of the implementation and enhancement initiatives, as well as identify future needs
* Evaluates economics on leasing deals and anchor agreements, focusing on the impact to project returns
* Communicate and present to Sr Leadership analytical and research findings supporting retail development pipeline
Qualifications:
* High school diploma or GED required
* Currently enrolled in College or University with a graduation date between Dec 2026 & May 2027
* Self-motivated and proactive, both with respect to managing workload and own professional development
* Good organizational skills and ability to prioritize work to meet deadlines

Reviewing county infrastructure plans for development.
Managing site contractors and consultants to complete site work according to the approved construction plans and best land development practices.
Ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal requirements throughout the development process.
Engaging contractors and managing completion of punchwork in a timely manner according to standards and specifications.
Managing maintenance of sites during home construction through bond release.
Providing customer service and communicate site information to departments and external customers.
Requirements:
Pursuing a Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent education
Knowledge of AutoCAD
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g. Word, Excel, and Power Point)
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and collaborate effectively as a team member
Ability to communicate at all levels with internal/external clients by phone, email, and in person
Ability to maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times

The Northwood Ravin Development Internship offers students an immersive experience where they will learn from and contribute to a team creating best-in-class multifamily developments. Joining Northwood Ravin's team offers the opportunity to build skills and a network of like-minded individuals. Northwood Ravin is seeking undergraduate and graduate-level students who are passionate about real estate development and eager to learn and grow as professionals.
Our summer interns will take part in all aspects of real estate development - from land acquisition and financial modeling to construction coordination, project close-out, and everything in between. Guided by a mentor, interns will be embedded in our team and will spend the summer participating in ongoing projects throughout the Southeast.
