Urban and Regional Planner would be responsible for both performing planning work and producing studies, planning programs, and proposals. Would have experience in physical and policy planning, economic development, community design, transportation, and project implementation. Provides strategic and technical support for early-stage infrastructure development programs and schemes, Reports to and receives operational and functional supervision from the Manager of IPDG (Infrastructure Planning and Development Group). A. Supervision Received


* Reports to and receives functional and operational guidance from the Manager of IPDG (Infrastructure Planning and Development Group) and receives day-to-day guidance from senior IPDG members

* Provides as required planning-related support to business line and regional managers as well as M&amp;BD (Marketing and Business Development) managers and associates


B. Supervision Exercised


* Supervises junior planners and project/discipline engineers as per specific projects requirements


C. Contracts


* Collaborates with department managers and counterparts in other Bechtel entities and services

* Builds and maintains professional relationships with customer and industry personnel


Responsibilities


* Plans and executes assignments relating to urban and regional planning, transportation planning, land use planning, community design, scenario development and analysis, sector research and economic analysis, policy review, site/regional reconnaissance, environmental and sustainability planning, and stakeholder management

* Supervises the planning activity on a project, or designated portions of a project

* Participates in the composition of reports and presentations, including the production of digital drawings, maps, figures, tables, graphs, and 3D imagery

* High-level engagement with clients to understand their needs and requirements in order to provide planning/design/feasibility solutions in a multi-disciplinary/multi-sectional context

* As directed, manages the complex organizational interactions that may evolve from the participation of several Bechtel industry groups (such as energy, mining and minerals, or manufacturing and technology) on a project

* Establishes and maintains access to technical experts in the advanced technologies pertinent to the project and sets up channels of communication to bring this expertise to bear effectively on the planning effort

* Familiar with associated disciplines (architecture, engineering, urban design, environmental science, and business planning) in order to manage others (both internal and consultants)

* Participates in proposal preparation and presentations to potential customers


Skills and Qualifications


Basic Qualifications


* Bachelor's degree in Landscape Architecture, Architecture, or Civil Engineering and a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning or a closely related discipline

* Candidate should have a minimum of 10 years of experience in urban or transportation planning or a closely related discipline; additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of Master's Degree and professional licensure is not required


Additional Qualifications


* Experience in urban and regional planning related to the development of urban and industrial infrastructure, logistics infrastructure, master planning, land use planning, urban and environmental design, sustainability and resiliency, and domestic and international planning policy

* Proficient in Microsoft 365 suite of applications - specifically Word, PowerPoint, and Excel - for the production of high-quality reports and presentations to internal and external customers

* Professional proficiency in Computer Aided Design software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and Infraworks; professional proficiency in ESRI's ArcGIS suite of software including ArcGIS Pro for data mapping and analytics; experience with 3D modeling software such as SketchUp Pro, Syncro 4D, and Twinmotion; experience with transportation and network modeling software is a plus

* Professional proficiency with the Adobe Creative Cloud suite of software including Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign

* Advanced oral and written communication skills with demonstrated ability in making presentations to customers and management

* Ability to listen and to understand customer challenges, supporting their early stage thinking as they plan procurements and applying a collaborative approach to customer relationships

* Ability to develop new propositions and to work with customers to shape potential prospects, including the ability to develop creative solutions and &quot;connect dots&quot; through disparate information

* Ability to sell Bechtel's value proposition, execution approach and commercial offering to customers based on a deep understanding of major project delivery

Historian

The incumbent serves as a cultural resource specialist for one or more parks where historical themes comprise a major part of the story. The park may be one where historical resources are predominant, or one where natural resources are predominant but where significant historical themes and resources are present. Professional fields of study must be pertinent to the park's resources and themes. Responsibilities The major duties of the Historian position include, but are not limited to, the following: Conducts historical research using oral history interviews, documentary sources, and principles of public history, and developing methods for future refinement of protocols. Uses subject matter expertise to provide technical assistance for projects, information requests, and public and descendant community engagement efforts. Reviews and contributes to historical context studies, site documentation, and specific actions plans pertaining to the evaluation and analysis of cultural resources. Represents the Historic Preservation Training Center working with others on historic and prehistoric structures. Develops and maintains liaisons and effective working relations with related groups and individuals, agencies, and the public. Duties will be developmental in nature when filled below the full performance level. Requirements Conditions of Employment U.S. Citizenship required.
