Equipment includes mixers, grinders, filter presses, dryers, filtering equipment, pumps, and filling machines. Processes may generate high pressure and/or critical reactions and requires training in hazardous material handling and emergency procedures. Weston & Sampson Services is currently looking for an Operator to support operations and maintenance out of our Charleston, Columbia, or Greenville South Carolina offices. The ideal candidate will have both water and wastewater experience. What you'll do: Responsible for the safe operation of wastewater treatment plants in an assigned geographical work area. Follow all safety rules and operation procedures established by Weston & Sampson Services. Responsible for proper sample collection and related laboratory tests or process tests, reading of gauges & meters where necessary. Mathematical aptitude to effectively perform calculations associated with the position. Mechanical aptitude to service, maintain, and repair a wide variety of machinery and equipment. Comply with all requirements to provide high quality wastewater treatment as established by the company and governmental regulatory and environmental agencies. Provide high quality service to our clients. The ability to learn and use computer programs such as Outlook, Microsoft Office, Teams. Must be available for work after business hours and during emergencies when needed. Physical capability to perform heavy manual labor in all types of weather. Must be reliable, responsible, organized, resourceful, and able to think and act promptly. Ability to cooperate/collaborate with other operators and laboratory personnel as needed. Strong problem solving and prioritizing skills. Ability to progress to higher levels of certification with increased level of responsibility upon successful completion. Other duties as assigned by management. What you will bring: Qualified candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. The possession of a Class C or higher Biological Wastewater Treatment license, or. Possession of a Class C Physical Chemical Wastewater Treatment license, or. Possession of a Class D Water Treatment or Water Distribution license. Applicants with entry level trainee permits will be considered for hire on a case-by-case basis.
