Responsibilities:
Leads team and other Project Architects in planning work and developing solutions to technical and design detail problems
Collaborates with PIC/PM in defining project work plans and developing and managing the production schedule, including effectively defining and meeting deadlines
Leads the creation and modification of complex detailed implementation documents to incorporate the design intent, using diverse knowledge of architecture principles and practices and advanced techniques
Leads development of code analysis and confirms code and zoning requirements for assigned segment of project are met
Supervises the preparation of documents by architectural team, including verifying implementation documents conform to QA/QC and HKS standards, best practice and quality expectations
Manages the technical resolution and coordination for the project
Writes reports or specifications for assigned project
Prepares client presentations and presents design concepts and drawings
Maintains open communication with client and provides guidance through projects
Coordinates with PM, clients, public agencies, consultants and contractors to incorporate engineering systems, respond to requests for information, clarifications and modifications, and obtain approvals, negotiations and adjusting scope of services
Communicates with client representatives to verify design requirements and specifications, progress reviews and delivery of final presentation
Attends on-site visits, field reviews and project meetings and documents as needed
Responsible for preparing and/or reviewing meeting minutes for consultant coordination meetings
Fosters and maintains a collaborative professional working relationship with the project team, including promoting communication and creating approachability
Actively promotes and incorporates the firm's principles of ‘design excellence' through the integration of responsible and sustainable design practice with the art of design
Collaborates in managing project to satisfy requirements from budget and schedule perspective while delivering a quality work product
Responsible for delivering a project on defined budget requirements and maintaining accountability to project plan and planned utilization rate
Supports and may lead the business development process by identifying new opportunities, marketing current clients for repeat business and assisting with proposals, budgets and schedules
May lead proposal preparation process and participates in negotiation of scope and fees on contracts
May participate in marketing interviews
Qualifications:
Accredited professional degree in Architecture
Architectural Registration required
Typically 15+ years of experience
Sustainable design accreditation preferred
Proficiency in architectural software such as Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks and 3D modeling software preferred
Experience with Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketchup and InDesign graphic software preferred
Proficiency in MS Office Suite preferred
Advanced knowledge of sustainability and integrated design guidelines
Advanced knowledge of architectural building systems, accessibility guidelines and QA/QC process
Advanced knowledge of building codes and ability to research and apply/incorporate into implementation documents
Strong presentation skills

Role Description: Huitt-Zollars has an Architectural Staff III opportunity in our Fort Worth, TX office. Duties:
Collaborates with multidisciplinary teams to develop innovative design concepts
Proposes more effective ways to accomplish tasks, leveraging creativity and problem-solving skills to enhance outcomes
Seeks mentorship and guidance, while actively contributing to the mentorship of junior staff
Produces detailed drawings, models, and presentations to effectively communicate design solutions
Conducts research and analysis and ensures compliance with relevant codes and regulations
Coordinates with consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to facilitate successful project delivery
Participates in client meetings, presentations, and reviews to gather feedback and refine design proposals
Actively tracks path to licensure, seeking requisite opportunities for experience necessary for growth

Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture
Seeking and actively pursuing NCARB/AIA Licensure
5-8 years of professional experience, preferably educational projects
Proficiency in Revit, and AutoCAD
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills
Demonstrated ability to work independently while recognizing the value of mentorship and guidance
Knowledge of sustainable design principles and LEED accreditation is a plus
