    HMT is hiring a Warehouse Helper to support shipping, inventory, and general warehouse operations. This role requires physical stamina, attention to detail, and adherence to safety and quality standards. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Responsible for identifying, counting, weighing, and packing finished products for shipment. The employee must be physically capable of lifting 50 pounds. The employee shall demonstrate their ability to operate motorized equipment and shall participate in the company-sponsored safety training program(s). The employee must demonstrate simple reading and writing skills. The employee shall adhere to all company policies, and participate in good housekeeping practices and any other tasks as directed by the General Supervisor. Perform general warehouse tasks as directed by the General Supervisor. Perform quality control checks as defined in the QMS manual. Operate Forklift for moving materials between warehouse locations. Pull, pack, label and verify finished goods for shipment. Performs cycle counts as a function of Inventory Control. Essential Duties: * Ensure all galvanized products meet Sabre quality requirements, minimize downtime, and promote efficiency and uptime. * Perform final inspection to ensure all products are free of uncoated areas, acid spots, lumps, projections, globules, edge tears, spikes or heavy deposits of zinc which will interfere with intended use of the product. * Measure the thickness of final product and document according to the quality program guidelines. * Conduct all inspections in accordance with Sabre Galvanizing Work Instructions, SOP's, and associated ASTM specifications with regard to specific customer requirements that may go above and beyond the standard. * Read work orders or receive oral instructions to determine work assignments or material or equipment needs. * Must use good judgment, follow instructions and have good problem-solving abilities. * Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. * Excellent attention to detail and strong ability to multi-task. * Train and assess employees' competencies in the Skill-Based Pay process. * Actively seeks and supports continuous improvement activities in process efficiencies, costs and effectiveness of work. * Must have knowledge and demonstrate compliance of all safety guidelines. * Calibrate the mil gauge using calibration blocks and log results. * Record number of units handled or moved, using daily production sheets or work tickets. * Attach identifying tags to product or mark them with proper identifying information as per Work Instruction requirements. * Follow established housekeeping standards. * Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management. * Work in your shift as scheduled * Getting along with coworkers * Additional duties as assigned by Supervisor and/or Management. Locate and gather Storeroom Personnel staged parts needed for assembly from parts staging area. Frequently pushes, pulls, and lifts up to 50 pounds. * Reads and interprets drawing to assure proper location of various small part attachments. Layout various locations on round tube or formed shaft based upon interpretation of drawings and specifications. * Uses measuring tape, level, square, and angle finders to measure distances and angles. Adds, subtracts, multiplies, and divides feet, inches, fractions, and decimals. Uses table to convert fractions to decimals and decimals to fractions. * Uses plasma torch and oxy-fuel torch to cut steel. Uses jigs made at Sabre/Texas for laying out vang slots and for cutting holes in shafts for inserting hand hole rims, arm mounting simplex, couplings, and other small parts. Wear protective goggles or welding hood to protect eyes from harmful rays. * Moves around round tube or formed shaft as necessary to get into proper position to accurately measure and assemble components described above including standing on elevated platform when necessitated by the size of the shafts. * Uses motorized grinders, motorized buffers, stone grinders, and drills to help assemble pole assembly according to prescribed specifications, codes and drawing. Wears protective face shield and safety glasses to protect eyes and face. * Adjusts welding machine to achieve desired results within parameters of established welding procedures. Changes tips, ceramic cups, and electrodes in plasma torch as needed to achieve desired cutting results. * Finish weld various products of the unit to keep the product moving through the large pole department in a timely manner. Reads and interprets weld symbols. * Uses oxy-fuel torch to preheat parts prior to welding. Read codes and specifications to determine proper temperature and uses instruments provided to measure temperature. * Uses chipping hammer, wire brush, motorized grinder, and motorized wire brush at various times to clean welded areas. * Uses pneumatic drills and magnetic drills to drill and ream various sizes holes in poles as required by the drawing. * Wears protective equipment, including safety glasses, insulated welding gloves, welding cap, leather sleeves, and/or cape, and welding hood for protection against hot metal, arc rays, grinding debris, and other potentially. * Performs visual inspecting and identifies material discrepancies to assure welds have been completed satisfactorily in compliance with applicable drawings and specifications. Uses a weld gauge to measure weld size. * When called for by the drawings and specifications, must produce full-penetration welds as defined by American Welding Society code. Uses air-arc gouger to remove weld defects, and rewelds to meet specifications. * Uses overhead crane to load finished poles into bolsters for transportation out of the pole assembly area. * Welds other products in other areas, using either Flux-Cored Arc Welding or Gas Metal Arc Welding process. * Assist and instructs other welders and fitters when needed to overcome deficiencies in quality and/or productivity. * Additional duties as assigned Position Requirements: * High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred * Must have knowledge of basic shop mathematics, addition, subtraction, fractions, multiplication and decimals. * Proficiency in reading complex prints and specifications. * Must know how to properly use a weld gauge. * Read and write.
