We are seeking an experienced Retail Engineer to join our team and help us drive process improvement and efficiency across our retail stores. The Retail Engineer - Store Operations' primary responsibilities are to update and maintain our engineered labor standards platform. In addition, identify and analyze key metric data alongside current store operational processes to support workload simplification and new initiatives. This job requires problem solving skills and strong analytical capabilities, along with data management and great communication skills.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities -
Primary responsibilities listed in order of importance
Compile and upkeep relevant datasets and information crucial to store operations such as Time Studies, Labor Standards, etc.
Become an expert in our labor standards platform (LaborPro) and ensure accurate inputs, maintenance, and application of the system.
Skilled in work measurement, standard data, and predetermined time systems and tools (MOST) with a focus on time study expertise.
Investigate store data and processes to identify trends, opportunities, and pain points and provide actionable recommendations.
Collaborate with field and store management to validate and react to trends and outliers by offering feedback and problem-solving solutions to ensure resolution.
Assist the Manager of Reporting & Analytics in monitoring store processes, building relationships with business partners, and creating tools and presentations.
Evaluate various labor scenarios and assess the impact of any changes.
Continuously improve processes from the backroom through checkout.
Display proficiency in gathering, analyzing, and interpreting information and proposing solutions within budget constraints.
Demonstrate the ability to interact effectively with various organizational levels and functions.
Identify areas of inefficiency and waste in process elements.
Create tools for analysis and modeling using MS Excel and PowerBI.
Possess knowledge of statistics and probability, TimerPro or UMT, and SQL.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:
* Development of labor estimates for the pricing of GGI services using the GGI scoring system, time study data, reasonable estimates, and extensive operational knowledge.
* Act as the subject matter expert GGI labor calculation. Must maintain the integrity and consistency of the GGI labor pricing structure through detailed knowledge of customer requirements, a high level of operational process knowledge, and consistent application of the principles of industrial engineering.
* Provide direct and indirect labor cost and price estimates for pro forma income statements used to competitively price new business proposals. Liaison with regional and global Financial Planning and Analysis to coordinate labor estimates.
* Assist Operations, Pricing, and Marketing personnel in understanding labor calculations, the impact of operational change, and analysis of the impact of new business models or pricing structures.
* Perform detailed analysis, time studies, work sampling, and operational process modeling to verify the accuracy of labor estimates, project the impact of process change, and develop estimates for new services or operations.
* Calculate actual operational labor costs in order to support competitive pricing and to provide a metric for operational productivity and labor demand planning.
* Maintain structured, documented, and accessible records of labor estimates and calculations, customer details, and departmental correspondence to ensure total departmental cross functionality, consistency of knowledge, and accuracy of calculations.

Position Purpose
Provide day to day manufacturing operations support as part of Lean management team.
Problem solve process roadblocks to meeting daily business objectives.
Develop solutions for incremental continuous improvement priorities.
Maintain process work instructions ensuring that any process changes are accurately reflected.
Support and manage performance of two Document Control Assistants.
Primary Responsibilities
Team member within cross-functional Lean daily management teams focused on ensuring flow is maintained through production lines.
Responsible for ensuring work instructions and standard work are documented for each process step
Leads process continuous improvement projects driven by business goals for safety, quality, delivery and cost in collaboration with manufacturing team ensuring projects are complete on time and within budget.
Improves manufacturing efficiency by analyzing and planning work flow, space requirements, and equipment layout.
Provides manufacturing decision-making information by calculating production, labor, and material costs; reviewing production schedules; estimating future requirements
Participate in brainstorming sessions and cross-departmental meetings to ensure collaborating and cohesion.
PositionRequirements
3+ years of experience in various engineering fields relating to mechanical design, manufacturing and process development
3+ years project management in a manufacturing environment
BS degree (Mechanical or manufacturing engineering field strongly preferred)
Proficient in Vision, Microsoft Office and MS Project
AutoCad or ProE experience
Technical report writing skills
Travel as required < 10%

This role supports quoting activities, new program launches, and tooling design and development for fabrication and assembly. Functions & Essential Duties Manufacturing Support
Identify bottlenecks and sources of waste, implementing system improvements to reduce costs and increase production efficiency.
Research, recommend, and implement new processes, technologies, and equipment to support continuous improvement and growth.
Participate in Kaizen events to increase productivity, reduce downtime, and eliminate scrap and unnecessary movements.
Support APQP activities by identifying requirements, taking direct action, and coordinating cross-functional efforts.
Implement detailed process plans for production lines, including documentation and bills of materials.
Administrative
Develop and maintain project schedules and budgets.
Ensure Bills of Materials (BOMs) are properly established and maintained.
Complete PFMEA documentation for new products.
Assist with quoting, sampling, and other departmental support activities as needed.
Prepare and present reports as required.
General Engineering & Design
Develop specifications for new product manufacturing systems.
Conceptualize, design, and implement new production equipment.
Conduct root-cause investigations and develop corrective actions, procedural updates, and training to eliminate risks.
Manage multiple projects involving production, equipment, and maintenance activities.
Perform design work using SolidWorks and AutoCAD as needed.
Authority:
Authorized to stop production if necessary to correct quality-related issues within the production process.
Education and Required Experience
Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Industrial preferred). Equivalent experience may be considered.
Automotive industry experience preferred.
Experience with Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or TPS methodologies preferred.
Experience in tooling fabrication or design is a plus.
Skills
Strong communication, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to read, write, and understand English to effectively complete job responsibilities.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Minimum of three years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
Proficiency in CAD and 3D modeling; SolidWorks preferred.
