This opportunity entails being responsible for leading a professional or technical discipline section in the design, development and delivery of project tasks while managing scope, budget, and quality control. This position coordinates project priorities, staffing schedules, and staff assignments to ensure clients are provided the proper resources at the appropriate time. Responsible for technical coaching and mentoring and efficient, productive utilization of staff in providing high-quality service. The number of employees directly and indirectly supervised by the Section Manager- Engineering is at least 5 but typically 7 - 10 or more.
What You'll Do:
* Develops, monitors and manages the section's operating budget in support of the group or office operating budget and forecast updates.
* Responsible for the management, growth and professional development of discipline-specific engineering section. Coordinates section activities establishes priorities and staff to jobs. Ensures staff development, mentoring and training needs are being met. Collaborates with other Sections and Departments within the office on work-sharing needs and opportunities.
* Supports the implementation of the firm's strategic plan and HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA) process on project pursuits in the Section and office, including development of Section-level strategic planning strategies.
* Supports the implementation of the firm's contracting (SCA) process through project delivery and contracting activities including scope, work plan and fee reviews for all contracting activities impacting the Section.
* Supports the implementation of the firm's project delivery (SDA) process including Work Planning, Monthly Project Reviews and other project performance methods to ensure quality work, on time, on schedule, to the client's satisfaction.
* Assists in marketing responsibilities, including client discovery, proposal generation, interviews, and win-to-work activities
* Maintains client contacts to ensure client satisfaction
* Recruits, hires, develops and retains section staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.
* Manages assigned project management activities (project scope, schedule, budget and quality management) and performs technical discipline tasks including research, reports, design, specifications and plan preparation.
* Leads a team including the direct and indirect supervision of at least 5 but typically 7 - 10 or more employees.
* Performs other duties as assigned.
What You'll Need:
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 8 years of practical experience including 2 years of leadership experience.

+ Develop micro-simulation models appropriate to specific project needs, including: VISSIM, Synchro/SimTraffic, HCS
+ Conduct traffic analysis for traffic management plans including projecting and analyzing diversions and summarizing benefits and costs
+ Develop and monitor budgets for project tasks.
+ Utilize travel demand modeling tools to aid in development of future traffic volume projections
+ Independently identify and analyze transportation planning issues
+ Provide quality control of traffic analyses, including traffic data, forecasts, simulation and operations analysis
+ Design Traffic Signal, Signing and Pavement Marking, Traffic Control, and ITS Plans
+ Conduct safety studies
+ Prepare detailed signal timing and phasing plans for field implementation
+ Write technical reports and create presentations of findings (samples may be required) that have been presented to a diverse group of clients and the public
+ Research and develop recommendations to implement emerging technology
+ Execute the systems engineering process and prepare concepts of operations for ITS projects

* Manage all aspects of projects valued over $100M, including renovations, maintenance, and new builds.
* Collect project specific site information to effectively organize available resources.
* Develop strategic conceptual program consistent with proposed scheduled and budget in concert with client.
* Competitively assemble the project team by preparing and administering Requests for Proposals (RFP's), make recommendations for award, and negotiate contracts as may be required by the client.
* Manage the project team on behalf of the client during the design, construction, occupancy, and closeout process.

* Review the design for adherence to client's schedule, budget, logistics and applicable regulatory agency requirements.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
* Experience as an Owner's Representative in Project Management on healthcare sector projects.

* Ability to analyze and manage project budgets logically and effectively.

Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. Please note, the final agreed upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. At Stantec certain roles are bonus eligible. Primary Responsibilities
As a Senior Remediation Project Manager, you will help develop a highly diverse waste and Site investigation & remediation (SIR) business across numerous clients in the region. In this role you will focus on fostering existing and developing new business with public and private developer clients, economic authorities, and solid waste authorities, both locally and in collaboration with other HDR Areas. You will be in position to develop, inspire, lead and oversee the activities of a multi-discipline investigation, design, and regulatory compliance teams and marketing new and existing clients.

* Conduct, supervise or direct investigations, evaluation and remedial design for contaminated sites
* Work with Project Managers and other technical team members in support of developing project deliverables, including writing or preparing technical reports, design drawings, technical specifications, engineering cost estimates and permit applications
