This opportunity entails supporting the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA) to increase rail system operational efficiency. HNTB has been tasked with the review of existing processes, procedures, workflows, tools, templates, and systems associated with rail system access and coordination to identify opportunities for improvement, and then supporting the customer in implementing those opportunities.
This position will be based at HNTB and WMATA offices in Washington, D.C. and Alexandria, Virginia.
What You'll Do:
* Inspects, observes, documents, and verifies work in progress by the construction contractor to ensure compliance with project schedule, contract documents. and plans. Confirms procedures are followed and material used conforms to specifications.
* Advises Contractor superintendent or Project Manager of necessary actions to ensure conformance with plan, specs, and contract. Reviews and resolves quantity disputes with contractor.
* Utilizes engineering inspection practices to perform sophisticated and complicated mathematical calculations, constructability and biddability reviews, and measurements of completed work to date.
* Reviews and check calculations for Inspector's daily report of assigned work activities, contractor labor and equipment, quantity of material received and verified.
* Performs on-site material testing and produces as-constructed sketches.
* Leverage relationships with peers for project discovery and talent acquisition.
* Maintains as-built record drawings.
* Performs contract close-out documentation.
* Performs construction schedule reviews, contractor pay estimate reviews, and change order management.
* Prepares and leads project progress meetings.
* Serves as field technical subject matter expert.
* May lead daily assignments, mentor, and train employees.
* Partners with client and acts as liaison between the field and the office.
* Performs other duties as assigned.

* Associates degree in Engineering, Construction Services, or related field and 12 years relevant experience, or
* Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Services or related field and 10 years of relevant experience, or
* In lieu of degree, 14 years of relevant experience

* Interprets contract plans and specifications, providing solutions for discrepancies within plans.
* Brings solutions to the contractor to maintain the schedule.
* Ability to work independently.

* Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) qualified or capable of receiving training.
* Coordinates the project for one field site.

AECOM is seeking a Construction Project Manager - Aviation to be based in Dallas, Houston, Austin, or San Antonio, Texas.
SUMMARY
Responsible for managing one or more aviation projects, including responsibility for scope, schedule and budget adherence in accordance with the written project documents and established policies and procedures. Project Managers will be responsible for projects from Business Case through Closeout.

Proactively work to avoid claims and resolve claims expeditiously to minimize client exposure.
Prepare and submit to senior management and/or DFW-DCC monthly report(s) detailing the progress, accomplishments, issues and current status of the project.
Review and concur in the proposed settlement of change orders, claims, and revisions to the design and/or construction scope, schedule and budget.
Assist DFW-DCC as requested in the development of RFQ's and RFP's and provide support as requested during the procurement process.
Lead (or approve) the negotiation of design and construction phase services, consultant fees and change orders, provide documentation and recommend acceptance by DFW-DCC.
Work closely with the Construction Manager to ensure projects are successful and in line with DFW goals and objectives.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
* Must possess a valid Class C driver's license and be able to obtain a certification to drive in DFW's AOA movement area.

Possess strong oral and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word.
