**What You'll Do:**

+ Leads the planning effort alongside Project Manager, collaborates and makes recommendations to project management team in planning the work, including developing Work-Breakdown Structure (WBS), estimating durations, and sequencing the work (hard restraints and soft restraints).
+ Independently develops new project schedules for complex projects using scheduling software. Maintains project schedule including progress updates. Communicates status of schedule and key risk areas to members of project management team.
+ Performs schedule risk analysis, including quantitative risk analysis.
+ Performs schedule analysis to include critical activities, risk areas, key milestones and significant changes to schedule. Develops "what if" scenarios to explore alternate sequencing in order to mitigate or avoid schedule delays. Revises forecasts and evaluates impact of delay.
+ Prepares reporting from schedules including EVA analysis, integration of cost and schedule.
+ Performs contemporaneous schedule analysis.
+ Performs detailed review of contractor schedule submittals, including baseline and progress update
+ Quality controls all scheduling deliverables prepared by support staff
+ Supports the preparation of procurement documents related to scheduling specifications.
+ Mentors Schedulers I, II, and III if applicable and may serve as technical lead.
+ Performs other duties as assigned.
**What You'll Need:**
+ Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or Business and 9 years relevant experience, or

Hiring Salary Range: $75,000 - $105,000 for this position in Denver, CO. The final agreed-upon compensation is commensurate with experience relative to the position and/or primary work location.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
As an employee-owner in this Senior Rail Facilities Engineer/Architect role, we'll count on you to:
Technical
* Lead freight rail facility and infrastructure design projects.
* Oversee the design development and documentation of sketches, exhibits, technical drawings, calculations, and specifications to confirm technical accuracy and version control.
* Apply relevant codes, regulations, and standards to confirm compliance and intent within project designs.
* Lead quality control and assurance processes by following established guidelines.
* Review project deliverables and provide feedback to team members.
* Review cost estimates and material takeoffs for accurate project planning and budgeting.
* Oversee contractor submittals, including shop drawings and RFIs, to verify design compliance
* Field
* Oversee field assessments to evaluate existing infrastructure and document conditions.
* Travel as needed for site visits, team coordination, and inspection activities.
* Perform on-site construction inspections to confirm work is executed in accordance with design documents.
Other
* Obtain and maintain required certifications, including eRailSafe and railroad safety training credentials.
* Assist in proposal writing, providing technical expertise, scope development, and hours/fee estimates.
* Participate in business development meetings and interviews with clients.
* Demonstrate professionalism in interactions with team members, stakeholders, and clients.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 10-20 years of experience in design and/or construction inspection, preferably with freight rail, industrial, and/or transit facility projects.
* Experience with project management principles and basic accounting principles.
* Proven ability to solve problems in an interactive environment with business and technical staff to maintain a high degree of collaboration across multiple regions and diverse clients.
* Demonstrated leadership skills, strong communication skills, and ability to work in a team environment with various teams.

* Master's degree in engineering, Industrial Architecture, Business Administration, or related field.
* Active membership and participation in an industry association (e.g. AREMA).

The Structural Engineer will join our Buildings Engineering Team, focusing on structural building design for projects within our aviation, aerospace, federal, health and science, and commercial market sectors. Our projects range from small renovations to large multi-building projects. This position performs all conventional aspects of engineering design and development, including the planning and conducting of work requiring more advanced techniques. This position independently performs a variety of assignments requiring skills in all conventional aspects of engineering designs for projects of moderate size and complexity.
Essential Functions:
Prepare construction documents, including structural drawings and specifications.
Perform structural calculations by hand and with computer-assisted engineering software.
Coordinate with other internal disciplines, including architecture, mechanical, plumbing, and electrical.
Review shop drawings, answer requests for information, and provide construction site visits.
Designs a complete project, system, component, or process and prepares project documents, engineering analysis, and reports.
Performs quality control reviews and ensures achievement of key milestones. Perform as-needed field reviews and observations of ongoing construction projects to maintain and increase understanding of construction practices and design applications.
Formulates and solves problems with timely and innovative solutions.
Maintains professional registration and licensure by ensuring conformance with professional, ethical, educational, and discipline practice requirements. Remains knowledgeable of all applicable federal, state, and local codes, criteria, regulations, and ordinances that are pertinent to respective discipline.
May provide technical guidance and assign tasks to junior and support staff for project duration. May also manage discipline and small multidisciplinary teams and ensure adherence to company and project contractual requirements.
Performs all other duties as assigned and within scope of practice.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited university.
5+ years of relevant experience.
Professional Registration.
This experience includes working on parts of a major project or multiple moderate-sized projects.
Proven experience leading and/or providing technical guidance to entry/junior-level staff. This includes proven experience reviewing others' work for technical accuracy.
Possess strong oral and communication skills.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel, Word.
Understanding of building codes and specific design codes related to structural engineering (ASCE 7, AISC, ACI, etc).
Proficient in Revit.
Skilled in the use of structural design and analysis software (RAM, Enercalc, ETABS, etc).
