The Senior Paleontologist will work as part of a dynamic team that is based in Southern California but includes staff members across the United States. Stantec Paleontology is one of the largest paleontological mitigation programs in the country, holding numerous statewide Bureau of Land Management and project-specific United States Forest Service and National Park Service paleontological permits. Your Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities may include a combination of the following tasks, but not all are required.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to undertake infrastructure projects related to their planning, design, and engineering.

- Perform site characterizations and evaluate geotechnical hazards.
- Assess subsurface conditions, including soil and rock properties and geotechnical conditions, including review and interpretation of field maps, field logs, test data, and other field documentation.
- Evaluate field and laboratory test data and develop parameters for use in technical analyses.
- Conduct numerical analysis using programs such as SEEP/W and SLOPE/W, FLAC, Plaxis, DIPS, UNWEDGE, SWEDGE.
- Develop familiarity with regulatory agency requirements, technical design standards, and industry standards and guidelines.
- Prepare technical reports including geotechnical data reports, geotechnical baseline reports, field reports, technical memoranda, computation packages, feasibility reports, design and evaluation reports, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
- Implement Stantec quality control and quality assurance processes for project deliverables.
- Prepare basic quantity and cost estimates.
- Participate in Construction Quality Assurance including the review of shop drawings and submittals, response to request for information, prepare site observation reports, and perform other contract administration tasks.

We are seeking candidates for a Drainage Project Manager with demonstrated experience on fast-paced transportation infrastructure projects. What You'll Do:
* Responsible for development of the project scope and fee quotation and assists in the preparation of technical proposals and contracts in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Contracting Approach (SCA).
* Serves as the primary client liaison and manages the project team to deliver the scope, schedule, and budgets to completion and to the client's satisfaction. Assists with client project scoping and contract negotiations.
* Performs technical discipline tasks including analysis, reports, design, specification, and production for assigned projects.
* Implements the firm's project delivery plan using HNTB's Sophisticated Delivery Approach (SDA) on each project. Leads the development and the execution of the project management plan. Supervises and mentors team to overall project objectives.
* Performs coordination with managers on project staffing, including, but not limited to; recruitment, development, retention, and succession of project staff; development of plan for project staff reporting; and support for performance and compensation reviews.
* Partners with Client Service Leaders and pursuit champions to assist with business development, building client relationships, and pursuit efforts for strategic and mini-mega projects in accordance with HNTB's Sophisticated Sales Approach (SSA). Works with the project team and marketing resources to prepare appropriate proposal and presentation materials. Leads proposal development and interview presentations for strategic and mini-mega projects to the client as well as general presentations within the industry and community.
* May be responsible for the recruitment, hiring, development, and retention of staff, including development of plan for staff reporting, performance and compensation reviews, and succession.

* Working with project managers, other discipline leads, and contracting partners to provide engineering to develop cost estimates and identify risks for job pursuits.
* Developing scopes, fees and workplans to execute projects on aggressive schedules.
* Assigning tasks and directing the design to provide quality, on-time deliverables.
* Acting as a subject matter expert and providing senior review of designs, proposals, fee estimates, and scopes of work for projects nationwide.
* Proficient with standard industry software (Microstation, InRoads Drainage, GEOPAK Drainage, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Storm CAD, HEC-RAS 1D & 2D, SWMM, PondPack, Culvert Master, Flow Master, HydroCAD etc.)
* Knowledge of, or ability to quickly identify, stormwater and associated permitting requirements of clients, local, state, and federal agencies that may be involved with projects.

Oversee preparation of environmental permit applications with various federal and state agencies for a variety of project types/sizes.
Manage the project or task team(office- and field-based) and their assignments, deliverables, files and administrative record, safety program, subconsultants and their contracting process, and client and their expectations; and monitor and review project contracts, deliverables, schedule, and budget.
Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Geology, Chemistry, Community/Urban Planning or a closely related field.
Master's Degree in any of the fields described above preferred
Minimum 6 years of related work experience, with demonstrated task lead experience.

Job Description
AECOM is seeking an experienced On-site Project Controls Manager to support Federal Projects and Programs.
Key Responsibilities
* May supervise a Project Controls team in effort to maintain schedules, cost controls, forecasting and Change management in all level reporting.
* Coach, monitor, and assist project controls team for various project assignments.
* Review outstanding tasks with team members and update priority list and/or projects and/or clients with any changes.
* Assist Project Management Team with project setup and execution.
* Effectively communicate the results of budget, cost and schedule analyses with PM and other project leaders. Identify issues, successes, and assist in developing project recovery plans when required.
* Conduct review sessions on project status with project management and/or client and highlight adverse schedule and cost variances for corrective actions.
* Ensure that all Project Controls activities are in accordance with set Project specifications and Statement of Work, including preparation and review of schedules, cost reports, cash flow and variance analysis.
* Lead meetings with internal project teams, Project Approvers, Finance, and Accounting.
* Attend team meetings to help in resolving issues, review progress reports and ensure assignment of new tasks.
* Monitor Key Performance Indicators, such as earned value, cost, and schedule performance, estimate to completion, and project end dates.
* Reviews purchase order and subcontract commitments and expenditures. Maintains tracking database to ensure that subcontractor funding is aligned with work authorization and expenditures.
* Read and understand client contracts and subcontracts, particularly related to scope, schedule, budget, and risk. Coordinate with project management team to ensure all procedures are in place to meet contractual requirements.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
* BA/BS in Engineering, Construction Management, Data Science or Finance with 4 Years of relevant experience in project controls and/or data analytics.
* Due to the nature of the project, US citizenship is required.
Preferred Requirements:
* Experience working with engineering, construction management, or related field.
* Detailed knowledge of project planning and scheduling methods, practices, and earned value.
* Must have demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Applications
* P6 Scheduling software skills
* Experience in resident engineering, construction management, project management, engineering, scheduling, and related fields.
* Experience working in a time-sensitive environment with direct client interface and high-level accountability.
* Effective written and verbal communication skills.
* Ability to prioritize, multi-task, plan, adapt and self-initiate tasks in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.

We are currently looking to add a full time intermediate-level Civil/Hydrologic and Hydraulic Engineer to our hydropower and dams group within the energy business line in Southern California (Pasadena, Irvine, or San Diego offices). If working on the most challenging water and natural resources projects around the world, building on your talents through a premier knowledge-sharing culture, and connecting across borders with some of the world's top talent appeals to you, join us. Some exciting local Southern California projects we have worked on include hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, modeling, and design for San Vicente, Santa Anita, and Big Tujunga dams.
The successful candidate will build on their existing technical knowledge base to work on challenging and diverse tasks for dams and hydropower projects, conveyance tunnels, and water resource projects for a variety of domestic and international clients. The successful candidate will be working in conjunction with other engineers and geologists on multi-discipline teams to support project development including feasibility studies, detailed design, and construction support. The successful candidate should be able to work independently and with small and large teams to apply critical thinking skills to solve technical issues and develop project-specific solutions. The position will provide stimulating career growth opportunities including mentoring of less experienced staff.
The position has the option to work a hybrid schedule and may require travel to project sites.
Key responsibilities may include a combination of the following tasks, but not all are required.
- Perform civil, hydrologic, and hydraulic engineering analyses and modeling for dam, hydroelectric, and other energy-related projects including dam breach and inundation analysis, intake structure design, and spillway design.
- Conduct hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using programs such as HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS (1D and 2D), LifeSim, and/or FLO2D.
- Prepare engineering designs through sketches, electronic models, diagrams, and other visual formats.
- Prepare construction drawings and specifications for design components including spillways, drop chutes, energy dissipation, and other hydraulic structures.
- Assist with feasibility studies by conducting research to assess issues and develop solutions.
- Prepare technical reports including field reports, technical memoranda, computation packages, feasibility reports, design and evaluation reports, construction drawings, and specifications.
- Prepare basic quantity and cost estimates.
- Provide engineering support for projects during construction.
- Participate in Construction Quality Assurance including the review of shop drawings and submittals, response to request for information, prepare site observation reports, and perform other contract administration tasks.
- Follow safe work practices and adhere to company guidelines for planning and executing work in a safe manner.
- Provide leadership, coordination, and ownership of tasks from initiation to successful completion.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams to undertake infrastructure projects related to their planning, design, and engineering.
- Work in conjunction with engineers and other professionals to solve project challenges, performing design calculations as required.
- Develop familiarity with regulatory agency requirements, technical design standards, and industry standards and guidelines.
- Attend project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants.
- Implement Stantec quality control and quality assurance processes for project deliverables.

Your Capabilities and Credentials
- Working knowledge of the principles of civil/hydrologic and hydraulics engineering.

- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited university is required, Master's degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in hydrology and hydraulics is preferred.
- California Professional Engineer license or ability to obtain within 1 year of employment.
