Hoag company history timeline

1944

The idea to build a hospital for the residents of coastal Orange County dates back to 1944.

1952

When the hospital opened on September 15, 1952, there were 75 beds, 68 staff physicians and 60 employees.

1999

Recruited in 1999, Doctor Shah co-launched a pioneering collaboration that established Hoag as one of the top mitral valve repair centers on the West Coast.

2006

His work was a catalyst for the development of the Nancy & Bill Thompson Heart Valve Center, established in 2006.

2013

In 2013, Hoag entered into an affiliation with St Joseph Health to further expand health care services in the Orange County Community.
