    The Associate Director of Teacher Certification & Educational Studies is primarily responsible for administrating undergraduate and graduate P-12 teacher certification programs (currently in Art, Childhood Education, Students with Disabilities, Teachers of English to Speakers of Other Languages, and 10 subjects in Adolescent Education), in coordination with the Director of the Teacher Education Program (TEP) and other members of the Educational Studies Department. Responsibilities include using software management tools for record-keeping and data management; and monitoring, analyzing, and reporting to maintain ongoing accreditation and program registration with New York State Education Department (NYSED), US Department of Education (USDOE), and national teacher accreditation entities (e.g., AAQEP). The position also includes identifying, coordinating, and overseeing early field and student teaching classroom placements through networking and coordinating with regional school administrators and teachers; and supporting TEP students and alum as they navigate state teacher certification processes. Additional responsibilities include administrative tasks: compiling, organizing, and maintaining records and materials related to department budget and expenditures, department meetings, program accreditation and curriculum reviews, grants, and other areas of departmental work. The role serves as the department's first point of contact for students, alums, and the HWS community as well as for off-campus inquiries and visitors. RESPONSIBILITIES: Teacher Certification & Data Management Responsibilities · Serve as an official liaison regarding NYS teacher certification. · Maintain up-to-date TEP student records and complete audits of TEP requirements. · Process recommendations to NYSED for teacher certification upon students' successful program completion and graduation. · Assist students and alumni with teacher licensure processes, taking NYSTCE exams, and navigating in-state and out-of-state certification. · Prepare and file annual reports (e.g., NYSED, Title II, AAQEP) and participate in the preparation of program reviews, accreditation analyses and reports, and other program documentation. · Monitor and report to Department about certification requirements and regulations, and other information of note from NYSED, AAQEP, CICU, etc., and help Department respond to changing certifications requirements and regulations, where needed. Teaching Placement Responsibilities · Identify placement needs, contact regional schools for TEP students each semester. · Ensure the completion of placement pre-requisites and maintain field experience attendance and performance records. · Distribute teaching placement information to along with logistical information · Work with HWS legal counsel, TEP Director, and school partners, to oversee the development and maintenance of Memorandum of Understandings (MOU) with school partners. · Review placement materials and make determinations about whether placements meet TEP requirements. Other Responsibilities: · Budget management, including purchasing and account reconciliation · Record keeping · Effective use of various software, including PeopleSoft, Baseline, Outlook, Word, Excel, 25Live Scheduler, Slate, and teacher certification management programs · Building management · Scheduling · Student employee hiring and supervision · Other duties as assigned OTHER INFORMATION: This is a full-time, 10 or 12-month, benefits-eligible, salaried exempt position with benefits, including vacation; paid holidays; sick time and personal days; medical, dental, and vision insurances; long-term disability coverage; life insurance; employee and dependent tuition benefit programs and retirement benefits. Typical campus hours of work are 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., although some program activities take place before and after the typical workday. Annual salary range is $61,000 - $65,000 for the 12-month position (salary is prorated for 10-month position). QUALIFICATIONS: Required: A bachelor's degree in teaching, education, data management, program administration or a related field with at least three years' experience in a related capacity, and strong interpersonal, administrative and technological skills. Ability to organize, multitask, and manage and set priorities with independent judgment. Preferred: Experience with programmatic data management, accreditation and assessment, and information analytics a strong plus. Experience working in a teacher education program or P-12 educational setting is preferred.     Under the supervision of Finger Lakes Institute (FLI) at Hobart and William Smith Colleges staff and Finger Lakes Partnership for Regional Invasive Species Management (FL PRISM), AIS Technicians will assist in fieldwork, outreach, and education related to high-priority and emerging aquatic invasive species (AIS) including hydrilla, water chestnut, starry stonewort, fanwort, parrotfeather, and more. AIS Technicians will primarily participate in aquatic plant surveys around the Finger Lakes region. Techs will also work with managers to physically remove high-priority species such as water chestnut. Job Responsibilities The public relations specialist advances the University's visibility and reputation by building relationships with media, crafting compelling narratives, and promoting institutional achievements. This role is responsible for developing and executing PR strategies that highlight student, faculty, staff, and alumni successes, as well as institutional initiatives, while ensuring alignment with the University's mission and brand. This position plays a key role in advancing the mission and reputation of the University by crafting clear and strategic content for diverse audiences. Job Responsibilities: * Responsible for creation of Fisher News Highlights (weekly online newsletter), The Beak This Week (weekly online events digest), and Fisher Family News (bimonthly parent newsletter), and a host of department/school-based newsletters. Material for these publications is gleaned from frequent contact with the University's schools, departments, faculty, and student organizations. * Cultivate relationships with local, regional, and national media outlets, and serve as main point of contact for media, interacting with them on a day-to-day basis. * Coordinate and staff interviews, press conferences, and media events. * Manage University media monitoring and distribution service, and monitor media coverage; provide analysis and monthly reporting to leadership. * Oversee and maintain the News & Events section and on the University website and on the intranet, including "This Week at Fisher" with news releases, campus updates, and photos. * Manage online Events calendar on public website as well as University intranet, and maintain admissions events and visit opportunities online. * Identify and develop stories that showcase academic programs, research, and community impact. * Independently and proactively write news releases, media advisories, pitches, feature stories, and op ed pieces and promotes them through targeted outreach to local media outlets. * Maintain the online experts directory and proactively pitch faculty and administrators as subject matter experts to members of the press. * Work with multimedia producer to create and develop social media content calendar; assist with management of University social media channels. * Collaborate with marketing and communications colleagues to amplify stories across digital and print platforms. * Serve on the Emergency Response Team and assist in communication efforts in crisis and/or emergency situations. * Other duties as assigned.
