Compared to the average, hobby lobby pays pretty well, $18.50 for full time in my state. However, pay raises are very rare.

I work in framing, helping customers with artwork/photos is very fufilling

The coworkers I had when I started and the usual customers we used to get as well!

The working environment is one notion that drew me away from there

I always receive 35 hours as a full time employee if not more. Managers can be flexible with your schedule if necessary.

The sale signs. I get told multiple times a day that the signs are misleading. I'm m constantly questioned about sale prices and discounts. I just wish it could be explained better to customers the sales and how certain items don't get further discounts

1 Week paid vacation the first year. 2 Weeks paid vacation second year and so on.

Pay and vacation time were great

The creative atmosphere, the ability to help customers fulfill their craft or decorative project in a way that fits or exceeds the expected outcome using our products in new and creative ways. Also most of the employees are like minded. Its hard work and demanding, but it is highly satisfying. I love when customers come back and ask specifically for me because they loved how I helped them previously. Its nice to know I helped them and they remembered me.

Policies, procedures, and unrealistic and extremely stressful expectations in a fast paced workplace. You are expected to be everywhere and do everything at once and if you have stuff not finished youre held accountable regardless of the reason. Oh and dont try to think creatively in order to make things go more efficiently, someone in a corporate office makes a list step by step of how you should do something even if doing so ultimately is wasted time and energy and is silly in a store with payroll cuts and not enough bodies to do the average days work let alone extra projects. I was told time and time again dont think outside the box. If they didnt come up with the idea then its not done. You cant even show why its a better idea. Your name is not on the store. Period. And in short "management".

Well it isnt the health care premiums or deductible thats for sure. No I would have to say they do have great life insurance, and medical leave policies and coverage. The pays pretty darn great too for retail without commission.
